3 519 ACADEMIC CENTER FOR COMPUTING AND MEDIA STUDIES (ACCMS) Director: MINOH, Michihiko, D. Eng. Yoshida-Honmachi, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto , JAPAN Tel Fax The Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies conducts research and development related to advanced use of the IT infrastructure and information media. The results are utilized in the enhancement of areas such as the educational research environment of Kyoto University, and are also available for joint use with other universities and research institutions. The Center also contributes to the improvement of University services by working in cooperation with the Information Management and Communication Department of the Institute for Information Management and Communication. Faculty members of ACCMS also contribute to educational activities at the University through cooperation with related graduate schools and public courses. Faculty members are also actively involved in joint research with companies and other research institutions. In addition to the various departments engaged in R&D, the Center houses the Contents Production Team, which provides assistance in the production of a variety of educational materials, Intellectual Property Office, which promotes the use of digital contents, and the Inter-University Services Committee, which operates the Supercomputer System supporting Inter-University Services. These and other sections together serve to provide a broad range of support for the utilization of information media.
