I organized a three-month research methods certificate course for the Health and Family Welfare service providers, managers, and policy and decision makers. This a first reports in its kind based on the focus group discussion and participant observation of 9 tribal communities in Bangladesh. This research report documented health seeking behaviour of tribal population, especially their maternal and child care practice. 5.., Rahman SA: Study of the effects of Unification of Health and Family Planning Services on Health care delivery system in Bangladesh (Funded by DFID). This report documented the effects of partial unification of health care delivery system and how this reform makes the delivery system ineffective. 6. This report reflects how the grass root level service delivery failed to reach the community as it was plan in Bangladesh. 7. This report provided in-depth information about the problem of decentralised training programme organised for health and family planning care provider under health sector reform in Bangladesh. 8.., Rahman SA., Reza A: Assessment of the enhancement of the capacity of the health system looking at the procurement and supply of goods under Health and Population Sector Programme (Funded by WHO). This report critically examined the problems of bulk and centralised procurement and distribution system. It also shows how the system failed to deliver medical supplies in time and how that affects in delivering health care service and health sector reforms as a whole. 9. Rahman SA: Assessment of the implementation of Essential Service Delivery Package (ESP) at the primary health care level in Bangladesh-2004 (Funded by WHO). This study was an evaluation of the effectiveness of the implementation of ESP at the primary care level and show to what extend ESP was delivered as intended in the reform agenda. 10. Rahman SA: Bridging the Access Gap (BAG): A way to reduce maternal and child mortality in rural Bangladesh. An operational research on developing a referral system at the sub district level in rural Bangladesh -2004/05. This pilot intervention developed a referral system and intervention mechanism, which can be utilised for reduction of maternal and child mortality in rural Bangladesh and other developing country similar to Bangladesh. 11. Rahman SA: Cost sharing on package services and referrals at the community level under BAG pilot intervention -2004/05(Funded by WHO). This pilot intervention was its first attempted to involve people in generating funds for their treatment by creating a Patient Welfare Fund (PWF) at the community level. 12. This study report provided an analysis of how health sector human resources affected by some selected health sector reforms in Uganda and Bangladesh. 13. Rahman SA.
