3 1 INTRODUCTION This document covers Active Directory installation scenarios for the Nuance PDF Converter Enterprise patches. For system requirements of the product, see its corresponding documentation (Release Notes located in the Readme folder of the PDF Converter Enterprise product. Note that performance and speed will be enhanced if your computer s processor, memory, and available disk space exceed minimum requirements. 2 INSTALLATION USING ACTIVE DIRECTORY The attached script is a sample and does the following: - determines the current version of the PDF Converter Enterprise installed on the client computer - launches the appropriate patch - allows for additional logging Make the script and the patches available to all domain users for execution. Create a Group Policy object for the selected configurations and edit it in Group Policy Object Editor. Select Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Scripts 3

4 Figure 1 Double click on Startup or Shutdown (Shutdown is preferred, because restart might be required after applying the patch). Add the previously mentioned script to the list. No additional parameters are required. 4
