1 For CITIBUILDER 401(k) PLAN FOR PUERTO RICO This is a summary of the annual report for Citibuilder 401(k) Plan for Puerto Rico, EIN , Plan No. 002, for period January 01, 2012 through December 31, The annual report has been filed with the Employee Benefits Security Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, as required under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Basic Financial Statement Benefits under the plan are provided by insurance and a trust fund. Plan expenses were $3,960,081. These expenses included $56,521 in administrative expenses, $3,909,780 in benefits paid to participants and beneficiaries, and ($6,220) in other expenses. A total of 1,520 persons were participants in or beneficiaries of the plan at the end of the plan year, although not all of these persons had yet earned the right to receive benefits. The value of plan assets, after subtracting liabilities of the plan, was $29,504,086 as of December 31, 2012, compared to $26,982,346 as of January 01, During the plan year the plan experienced an increase in its net assets of $2,521,740. This increase includes unrealized appreciation and depreciation in the value of plan assets; that is, the difference between the value of the plan's assets at the end of the year and the value of the assets at the beginning of the year or the cost of assets acquired during the year. The plan had total income of $6,481,821, including employer contributions of $2,282,081, employee contributions of $1,304,017, earnings from investments of $2,869,288, and other income of $26,435. Basic Financial Statement Benefits under the plan are provided by insurance and a trust fund. Plan expenses were $696,134,314. These expenses included $15,177,690 in administrative expenses, $680,269,454 in benefits paid to participants and beneficiaries, and $687,170 in other expenses. A total of 153,445 persons were participants in or beneficiaries of the plan at the end of the plan year, although not all of these persons had yet earned the right to receive benefits. The value of plan assets, after subtracting liabilities of the plan, was $9,475,275,125 as of December 31, 2012, compared to $8,232,170,137 as of January 01, During the plan year the plan experienced an increase in its net assets of $1,243,104,988. This increase includes unrealized appreciation and depreciation in the value of plan assets; that is, the difference between the value of the plan's assets at the end of the year and the value of the assets at the beginning of the year or the cost of assets acquired during the year. The plan had total income of $1,939,239,302, including employer contributions of $382,275,196, employee contributions of $479,215,178, earnings from investments of $1,059,733,690, and other income of $18,015,238.
