Mixed environment with ThinPoint network floating licensing ThinPoint presents a great value proposition for organizations that require remote access, application delivery and desktop virtualization in an all-in-one low-cost package. In a mixed environment ThinPoint enables remote access to individual PCs, Virtual Applications published from a Windows Server and allows for Desktop Virtualization. All of this enabled by a set of shared ThinPoint concurrent licenses. All the above mentioned benefits plus: Couples Server Based computing and Desktop Virtualisation Solution in one single package at the same time, allowing people to access their own PC and/or server. Create a high availability desktop and applications as a Service environment with ThinPoint Dedicated License Server, ThinPoint Floating Licensing and ThinPoint Load Balancer. How to setup: 1. Install ThinPoint host component on each PC you wish to access, Windows servers and ThinPoint Desktop Virtualization hosts. 10 3. Follow the installation process to create ThinPoint Universal Client. Using each specific client your can access the PCs, Windows Servers or any ThinPoint Desktop virtualization host that you have created the client on. 4. Compatible with a NAT firewall to use Universal Client without making any changes to your network firewall. 99% of the current network firewall routers are NAT.
11 5. ThinPoint solution for Desktop Virtualization and Application Delivery from the Cloud Desktop virtualization will move towards mainstream adoption in 2010, and by 2011 as many as 16 million desktops could be virtualized... According to My Efficient Planet, Move all your business desktops and Windows applications to the Cloud and focus on your own business while taking full advantage of the savings and versatility of Cloud Computing. ThinPoint is the simplest; most secure and cost effective solution to do this. All the above mentioned benefits plus: Using ThinPoint Universal client you do not require setting up a VPN on the Cloud. Close all the open ports on your Cloud. ThinPoint doesn t require any port on the server network to function. An open port is the first point of access for a hacker to gain control over your network and Cloud computing environment. As Universal Client doesn t use any IP to access your server on the Cloud, you can easily move your servers from one subnet to another or from one Cloud provider to other. You don t need to change any thing on the client side. Universal Client will find its way to access the server on the new subnet or Cloud service. Benefiting from Cloud service model, turn your IT CAPEX to OPEX, reducing your IT cost of acquisition and ongoing maintenance substantially. Use ThinPoint to deliver your business Desktops and Applications from Cloud.
12 Use ThinPoint to provide Desktop-as-a-Service (Daas) or Software-as-a-Service (Saas) in a very simple and cost effective manner. Turn your business to a truly connected and accessible enterprise, while reducing your IT footprint. Expand your business cost effectively through a dynamic Cloud based pay-as yougo computing platform. ThinPoint is compatible with all Public and Private Cloud service providers who allow installing Windows server and desktop on their fabric. How to setup: 1. Provision Windows Desktop or Server on your Cloud. We strongly recommend using a 64bit Operating system to allow expanding your Virtual Machine memory beyond Windows 32bit, 4GB memory limit. This way you can increase your Desktop users cost effectively, as you expand. 2. Using Cloud access console, Install ThinPoint host component and license server on your Windows Virtual Machine. 3. Follow the installation process to create ThinPoint Universal Client. copy and distribute this client to your users. 4. Close all the ports on your Cloud network. 5. Your ThinPoint Cloud Desktop or Application Delivery is ready.
