3 Configuration Assistance PSA Timesheet Outlook retrieval Within the Timesheet module of Assistance PSA you have the possibility to import your Outlook appointments. This way you can directly book your hours according the appointments in your outlook agenda. This document describes the steps to configure Assistance PSA Timesheet Outlook retrieval. 1. Prerequirements Outlook retrieval Assistance PSA Timesheet Outlook retrieval can be used with Assistance PSA version or higher. It allows Outlook retrieval from a self-hosted Exchange server version 2007 or higher, or an online hosted Exchange server. Note! The K subscriptions of Office 365 are not supported. 2. Configuration Assistance PSA The connection between Assistance PSA and the exchange environment needs to be configured in the PSA Settings record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. To open the PSA Settings record open CRM and go to Settings PSA Settings. Enter the Exchange URL into the field Exchange URL (C). For example: or If you want to use a hosted Exchange environment (e.g. Microsoft BPOS) choose YES at Exchange on-line. You can also put this option on Yes for an On premise hosted exchange environment or put this option on No and use the Policy files as described at Configuration policy files (self hosted Exchange). You can t use the Outlook retrieval option before those policy files are placed. 3

7 For on-premise you can get the url by opening the Outlook Web Access (OWA) Example On premise Now change the last part owa/# to EWS/Exchange.asmx so you have a url like this. For office 365 the URL is You should see something similar to the screenshot below. This means you have correctly configured the client and are now able to retrieve Outlook appointments. If you don t get a screen as above but a screen as below, the certificate is not corresponding the URL that is used. Please see Solving Certificate Issues to solve this issue. 7

8 2. Self hosted Exchange 2.1 Prerequisites In order for Timesheet to access the Exchange Web Service (EWS) appropriate policy files must be in place if you want to use those. Copy the policy files listed below (A) in the root (B) of the web site in which the Exchange web service (EWS) is hosted. 2.2 Configuration policy files After copying the policy files, modify the URI scheme name in the clientaccesspolicy.xml file. Please use the appropriate URI scheme name based on your CRM and EWS binding configuration. Possible binding types are listed below. The most common binding types are HTTP (CRM On-Premise) to HTTPS (EWS) and HTTPS (CRM Online) to HTTPS (EWS). Configuration workstation (Exchange Online) As CRM and Exchange environment are not within the same domain if you use Exchange online the following security settings must be set on the workstations.. Open CRM in Internet Explorer and go to Internet Options and Security. 10

11 Select Trusted Sites and add your CRM en Exchange URL to Trusted sites. 11

12 Choose Close and without deselecting Trusted sites go to Custom level. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous section and find Access data sources across domains. Make sure Enable is checked. Next goto the User Authentication part and select the option Prompt for user name and password. This is needed if the login name for CRM and Exchange-online are different. If this option is not checked the system tries to connect to exchange online using the same credentials as used for CRM. Close Internet Explorer. 12

13 4. Know Issues 4.1 Solving Certificate Issues. Problem: The client is rejecting the website s certificate. Solution: Install the CA Root certificate into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store. 1) Navigate to the Exchange URL previously entered in the PSA Settings and click Continue to this website (not recommended). (D). 13

14 2) Expand the Certificate Error (E) and click View certificates (F) to bring up the Certificate Information dialog (3). 3) Proceed to Install Certificate (G) and click Next in the Certificate Import Wizard. 14

15 4) Select the option Place all certificates in the following store (H) and click Browse to select the Trusted Root Certification Authorities. 15

16 5) Complete all remaining steps of the wizard and accept warnings. You must restart your browser before the changes take effect. 4.2 Mismatched address error Problem: Solution (Internet Explorer): Disable the security option Warn about certificate address mismatch (I). 16

17 4.3 Alert error after clicking Outlook retrieval Problem: The following Alert appears after clicking Outlook retrieval Solution: Follow the steps as described in 3. Configuration workstation 4.4 System.InvalidOperationException: ErrorFolderNotFound Problem: Exchange is rejecting the user credentials for the specified mailbox. Solution: 17

18 Clear or reconfigure stored credentials. To view stored credentials type the following command in the command prompt: C:\>rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr 4.5 General troubleshooting As a general rule you should always be able to access the following URL s directly from your browser. 19 4.6 CRM authentication Problem: CRM keeps asking for user credentials when the CRM Application Pool Identity is configured to run as a specific user identity. Possible solution: Enable IIS Kernel-mode authentication. 19

20 4.7 Log files CRM Silverlight controls does not create log files by default. You can however monitor debug messages via the IE Developer Tools console (requires IE 8 and above). Press F12 to bring up the IE Developer Tools and go to the Script tab to view the console. It is recommended to start the development console before you navigate to Assistance PSA. 20
