12 Surveillance Network Infrastructure Program The PBC delivered approximately $16 million in technology projects in 2013, successfully installing over 400 new cameras for OEMC, 2FM, Cook County and the Chicago Park District. Some of the work included connecting existing cameras at the fire and police facilities, Park District, 2FM, Cook County and City Hall to the OEMC network, and equipped mobile trailers and vehicles with cameras, wireless modems and license plate recognition cameras for use at parades and large group events. All work procured and administered by PBC
13 Surveillance Network Infrastructure Program Program Objective Unified camera network that meets the needs of the Office of Emergency Management and Communications and Cook County a) Ensure camera systems installed by city departments and sister agencies, designed and installed under a unified methodology b) This methodology also ensures that individual systems will communicate with Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) or Department of Homeland Security (DHSEM) c) This communication with OEMC and DHSEM is critical to effectively direct first responders in the event of an incident
