1 Spanish AA-T Degree Berkeley City College PROGRAM OF STUDY The Associate in Art Degree in Spanish for Transfer is designed to prepare students to complete the baccalaureate degree in Spanish upon transferring into the CSU system. This program assists students in seamlessly transferring to a CSU in order to earn a bachelor s degree in Spanish. The courses in the Associate in Arts Degree in Spanish for Transfer program are also articulated to allow students to transfer to local U.C. s. REQUIRED CORE: SPAN 001A Elementary Spanish 5 SPAN 001B Elementary Spanish 5 SPAN 002A Intermediate Spanish 5 or SPAN 022A Spanish for Bilingual Speakers I 5 SPAN 002B Intermediate Spanish II 5 or SPAN 022B Spanish for Bilingual Speakers II 5 Substitution Courses (see LIST A): If a student places out of any core course(s) is not awarded units for that course, the student will need to take additional units to compensate for the course/units required to reach at least 18 total units in the major (Title 5 regulations). Course substitutions are made at the discretion of the local college may or may not be delineated in the local degree. Suggested substitutions include courses in List A. Additional suggested course substitutions are contained in the finalized Transfer Model Curriculum (TMC). 2 Associate of Arts Degree for Transfer in AA-T Degree Laney College The Associate in Arts in for Transfer Degree is designed to prepare students for a seamless transfer with junior status priority admission to their local CSU campus to a program or major in or similar major for completion of a baccalaureate degree. Students are required to complete: A minimum of 18 semester units in the major with a grade of C or better while maintaining a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all CSU transferable coursework. The Associate Arts in for Transfer Degree will also assist major students to transfer to a U.C. or other baccalaureate institutions. Students are advised to consult with a counselor to verify transfer requirements. Degree Laney College The Theatre Arts Department provides students the opportunity to broaden their liberal arts education, gain practical experience for professional theater work, prepare for continued higher education. One major production is offered each year utilizing Laney?s outsting theater training program. The Theatre Arts major offers the fundamental study understing of the theater. This allows students to develop their practical skills talents as well as their intellectual ability to think creatively critically. Students are required to complete:? a minimum of 27 semester units in the major with a grade of C or better while maintaining a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all CSU transferable coursework.? 60 semester CSU-transferable units using the California State University-General Education- Breadth pattern (CSU-GE Breadth); OR the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) pattern.? No more than 60 semester units are required. The Associate in Arts Degree in Theater for Transfer will also assist Theater major students to transfer to a U.C. or other baccalaureate institutions.
