1 Coconino Community College Online Course Review Form This review rubric is divided into two areas: Essential (ES) and Secondary. (SS) (ES) Essential are standards that every online course must meet to pass this review. (SS) Secondary are standards that are also important but not essential. An online course would also need to meet at least 74% (17/23) of the Secondary to pass this review. Course: Submitted by: Date: I. COURSE OVERVIEW AND INTRODUCTION (ES) I.1 Navigational instructions make the organization of the course easy to understand. (ES) I.2 A statement introduces the student to the course and to the structure of the student learning and, in the case of a hybrid course, clarifies the relationship between the face-to-face and online components
2 (ES) I.3 Minimum technology requirements, minimum student skills, and, if applicable, prerequisite knowledge in the discipline are clearly stated (SS) I.4 The self-introduction by the instructor is appropriate and available online (SS) I.5 Students are requested to introduce themselves to the class (SS) I.6 Etiquette expectations with regard to discussions, , and other forms of communication are stated clearly

LEARNING OBJECTIVES (ES) II.1 The course learning outcomes are clearly stated and measurable (ES) II.2 The module/unit learning are measurable and consistent with the course level outcomes (ES) II.3 Instructions to students on how to meet the learning outcomes are adequate and stated clearly (SS) II.4 The module/unit learning address content mastery, critical thinking skills, and core learning skills

ASSESSMENT AND MEASUREMENT (ES) III.1 The types of assessments selected measure the stated learning objectives and are consistent with course activities and resources (ES) III.2 The course grading policy is stated clearly (ES) III.3 Specific and descriptive criteria are provided for the evaluation of students work and participation (SS) III.4 The assessment instruments selected are sequenced, varied, and appropriate to the content being assessed

RESOURCES AND MATERIALS (ES) IV.1 The instructional materials support the stated learning outcomes (ES) IV.2 The instructional materials; i.e. assignments, assessments and discussions have sufficient depth for the student to learn the subject.
