9. IF YOU ANSWERED "NO," PLEASE USE THE TEXT BOX BELOW TO TELL US HOW WE CAN IMPROVE OUR EFFORTS TO GET INFORMATION ABOUT BCCC TO YOU. a website needs better organization b Newspaper, radio, TV. Other CC's advertise lots more than BCCC. c Update website more often. Job Fair not even listed on the home page of website. d Unfortunately most programs and event notices are sent out or posted with very little time to spare e I don't ever get e mails about events, the only e mails that I get are about closings due to weather and blackboard updates f It would be nice if you implemented a text system automatically when we enrolled for class. I forget and/or don't have time to go find the campus police office and sign up for text alerts. Making them mandatory would be wonderful. One less thing I have to remember to do. g I feel as though the college could better inform students by posting certain information several months ahead of time and in the cases such as delays and cancelled school days, invest in an all call (not receiving texts from at 3:30 in the morning) software system that would be available to students. h make posters i Announcements over the intercom system, and a campus newspaper j GET NEW TEACHERS AND NEW DIRECTORS OF SPECIFICALLY. I HATE BCCC AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO IT, ESPECIALLY THE PROGRAMS! AND IN PARTICULAR ARE TEACHERS WHO TREAT THERE STUDENTS LIKE! k Maybe you already do this and I just haven't looked, but how about advertising through regional city and county sites, chambers of commerce, etc.? l How about a Mass list to interested or previous students? m think that more instructors should be involved in campus activities and they should help to promote them n , and mail o Improve the website. It is so cluttered and it's impossible to find anything there. It takes about a dozen clicks to find anything. There is no "one place calendar of events" that I can find ANYWHERE and believe me I've looked. p I have just browsed the website. Haven t been there for quite a while and I really like the changes. Just signed up for updates. I think this is the best way for me to get the latest info. So, now I would say the forms of info about programs and courses will be just right. q GREAT JOB! Page 3

10. WHAT ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS OF STUDY (COURSES) AND/OR SERVICES WOULD YOU LIKE BCCC TO OFFER? a Culinary Arts Program: cooking, baking, and creative cake decorating. b Activities the Early College High School students can participate in as well c I don't think that is fair for courses that are required to complete are only offered certain times of the year. I also don't think that we should have to pay more to take a class during the summer that is being offered. d Full Dental Hygiene program, MLT program e Conversational French and/or French curriculum classes f Physical Therapy Assistant Occupational Therapy Assistant Medical Assistant g N/A h more summer classes i none j Online courses that will assist in Bachelor Degree programs. Some people stop at an Associates due to driving distance to ECU. More programs like Wachovia Partnership, but for Business would be wonderful additions. k It would be nice to have more hands on computer classes instead of sitting in the class listing to the instructor talk the whole time. l nutrition, medical diagnosis courses, more CPR classes due to it being a requirement of the nursing program, more history classes, more philosophy classes, audio programs and classes, more language courses other than Spanish. m I think focus on Business programs is lacking. Not enough night/online courses. n Culinary School o Radiology p Geography and French and Italian q More web courses like Photoshop r certification courses for Medical Assistants s Our area needs more agricultural based courses and it would be nice to have more advanced science courses like Botany. I hate having to drive to Pitt Community when my tuition money could be spent in my hometown t I think BCCC should offer a paralegal program. u Wouldn t it be great to have a "Need some extra cash?" section or bulletin board or e mail on a regular basis. This could be funded by a farmer or well to do citizen who knows someone or who actually needs some "grunt" work done for a day, 1/2 day, etc. This could be cleaning out a garage, shed, painting, garden work, those things that need doing but no one wants to do. These are things I do and enjoy doing them. This would give a "poor" student an opportunity to make some extra cash. There are so many scholarships out there from wealthy citizens who just give out the cash each semester. Why not set up the same type fund for small jobs. This way, things are accomplished and a student receives the value of work plus spending cash. If I had the money, this would be the first thing I'd do. v More Dance classes w Speech pathology x Dental Assistant/ Medical Office assistant/ Pharmacy Tech y when taking courses at BCCC I feel that the curriculum should consist of more classes that are transferable to four year colleges. z Publishing books or articles. Kind of a how to course. Page 4

aa carpentry and associated subjects relating to historic preservation bb Sign language, if you do offer it I have not seen it. Not during the day cc We should have another chief campus officer who would actually do his/her job. dd cooking ee Medical Assistant ff A campus gym facility gg I think that more foreign languages should be offered, like French, Italian, German, Portuguese, etc. hh Physcial Therapy ii More available online classes. jj Current selection is very good. Keep up needs of new and current industry. kk Financial Aid Counselors to help fill out the FAFSA. Sports. More courses because classes fill up too fast. ll Host an occasional shooters the weapons range for a modest fee. mm I DONT GIVE A n??? oo small engine repair pp More variety for retirees.. Nutrition, Computer, Travel, etc qq Dental Assisting, Marketing rr i think they should offer more courses in the health field such as x ray tech, surgical tech ss I wish they would allow class sizes to be larger for online classes. tt i would like the program info sheets that are available in front of the financial aid office to be accurate. ex... criminal justice programs states that you can be a probation officer... WRONG you can't you need a four year degree.. Ex 2 human services degree, you can t work at social services with a two year degree... uu Medical Assistant Dental Hygienist Physical Therapist vv I would like to see more Spanish instructors. ww Theater and dance xx More fitness and health yy I hope in the near future the college offers a broader form of daycare for parents with young children, inadequate family members, and little funds. Tis will in able a lot of mothers to stay in school. zz more nursing classes, phlebotomy aaa 1. More intellectual programming for continuing ed. Something besides cake decorating! How about some cultural/arts events? Lectures about current events? Art classes? Health and fitness activities? 2. It seems to me that we need some health career options other than what we have available. Not everyone can be a nurse or even get into the nursing program. 3. Offer foreign language at night for those of us who have daytime responsibilities. 4. Offer more hybrids at night as well as accelerated courses similar to Mount Olive College. Beaufort seems to be stuck in the old ways of doing things bbb Either more early a.m. classes or more evening classes for those who work full time. cccn/a ddd More animal related courses animal law, companion animal health, shelter operations/management eee dentistry, guidance counseling fff A tutoring program where students volunteer to tutor other students would be great. Also, more summer classes, please! Page 5

ggg I Would like to have more programs for senior citizens since I am one. hhh A few calculus classes would be great. iii radiology physical therapy jjj I would like for BCCC to offer more in the medical field for example: x ray technician, ultrasound technician, physical therapy assistant, etc.. kkk more about business lll Medical Assistant courses Health Information Technology (courses that will help you become certified or professional coders) mmm Make more room in the nursing classroom for more students. nnn CERTIFICATION FOR BILLING AND CODING ooo More online Accounting/Business Major classes. more nursing programs ppp Pharmacy Technician qqq more math classes and upper level classes rrrbeginning bookkeeping sss Geography ttt more online classes uuu Human Resources vvv Pharmacy tech course, organic chemistry, nutrition www Radiology xxx i would like for the library to open 4 hours on sat. yyy ACLS, PALS, ETC CERTIFICATIONS WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION. zzz Physical Therapy aaaa Radiology bbbb BIO 110, PED 110, Physics and the Environment, more information about transferring to a University cccc dental hygiene dddd sonograph, Radiography, medical assisting eeee EMT Paramedic, Associate Degree in EMS, more Nursing Programs entries, ffff Interior Design gggg Some courses in Hyde iiii Veterinary Tech, Phlebotomy, Physical Therapist Assistant, Interior Design hhhh I would like to see some program offered at the nursing home jjjj More Continuing Education computer classes daytime kkkk Some courses in Hyde geared to 50 + ages, Conversational Spanish, Painting (art), Small Engine Repair (not outboard) llll I would like to see BCCC become a satellite classroom for ECU. Like for getting a BA in Education. So I wouldn t waste time driving to Greenville several times a week. mmmm Spanish for high school students attending public schools nnnn Textile weaving oooo More sciences Page 6

11. PLEASE USE THE TEXT BOX BELOW FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS OR COMMENTS CONCERNING ANY ASPECT OF BCCC OPERATIONS. a I think there should be more classes available at night or even on Saturdays. Some people work but also want to better their education and the only time they can do that is at night or on Saturdays. I think there should be more tutoring programs for night students. I don't think if I have an online class that I should have to go to the campus to take a test or do lab experiments using equipment that wasn't in lab kit that was so expensive. Some of the courses we never have to use in life so I don't understand why it is required. b N/A c The high school kids need to act more professional, because they are in a professional atmosphere. d n/a e Activities to connect the Early College High School to the college would be nice. f Most instructors are very knowledgeable, however, there are some who are not organized and are absent more than they should be. g PLEASE get rid of the small desks and have more desks that you can pull the chair up to. All the students aren't straight out of high school and still skinny anymore. h I would like to see some type of caution light placed on 264 before someone gets killed. i Replace tiny desks with tables and chairs for adults. j Please make registration more automated! It is very hard to take off work and drive out to the campus to register and when I don't /won t get paid. Also, why is the cashier s office so far from the registration area? k I think that BCCC should revise their attendance policy and allow more days to be missed, especially during flu season. l I would love to be able to have access to a study/computer lab on weekends if only for 1/2 day. I understand this is dependent on funds. You could have our police monitor from camera. Shouldn t need too much supervision for serious students. Downtown library computers are ancient and not very esthetic to studying. m the courses need to be the same, some teachers teach and some do nothing. kids are not learning from some of the teachers n The ability to access my account for financial aid ( how much I have and where the monies have been spent.) Would love to keep up with it myself as well. o Anyone that begins BCCC for the first time should be checked for ACA credit so that they are not sophomores taking a freshman seminar class. You may have more people attending and having fewer drops just saying. p It has been 3 years since I have attended classes so I don't feel free to comment q More buildings would probably suit this campus well. We are expanding our student base, and are rapidly running out of space for everyone. I applaud the early college program for high school students, but with that influx of people, space and time is severely limited, as well as the physical resources of computer labs and study materials. r Should be able to register online for classes it would save time. More programs available beside the basic Medical Programs. s Have parking I.D's available rather than the stickers, because some students do not like putting stickers on their cars. Page 7

t It would help if BCCC could offer more assistance to individuals that work full time. (For example: online registration, weekend classes) I live in Hyde County and it is hard for me to get off work and do things the BCCC require. College is not just for young adults who are not in the work force. u BCCC seemed very organized in all aspects based on my experience there. I took pre reqs for the LPN Program and then completed the LPN Program. The school is pro active. v School of Cosmetology should update its voice mail to a business like format, i.e. hours of operation...holiday/closed to business notifications would be most helpful w NEW FACULTY! TEACH THE TEACHERS HOW TO TREAT STUDENTS LIKE THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS, NOT PIECES OF PRISONERS...THESE TEACHERS ARE MORALLY AND ETHICALLY! x GOOD JOB now! y That teachers show more concern for students that are sick or disabled and have outstanding grades, understand that an illness is just that an illness not an excuse. I could understand if a student disabled did not make up or show interest but when they ask for help, and the teacher acts like the could care less it hurtful. Personally glad I never had to deal with that more than one occasion z I think Beaufort Community College is a great school. I have met wonderful teachers and students. I enjoy the program I am enrolled in and believe the teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend Beaufort Community College to graduating high school seniors. aa We need more parking spaces. bb I think that the staff can be very slack, and spend a lot of time "hanging" out with students and not working. They hide out in a room or just stand around talking on campus when there is work to do. I also think that the high school students that are located in building 10 are very disrespectful, and are not properly supervised by their teachers. They are loud when they walk through campus and when they use BCCC resources and different facilities. It is very difficult to get in touch with and especially his assistant.. I also do not agree with having to pay 10 cent a copy for paper, when the assignment is required by a teacher; I pay all of my tuition out of pocket and do not have a printer at home, and I have already paid too much to go to school without having to pay 10 cent to print a required document for a teacher. Thanks cc The library needs to open on Saturdays as before. dd I enjoy BCCC. I like the new policies you all have set. It keeps us safe and is well needed. Even though people still continue to abuse them the campus police take care of it. Thanx for all y'all do in making school exciting and worthwhile. ee I have a teacher in the program that teaches a class in person and online. She does NOT give feedback on exams or tests in a timely manner that would allow me the correct any problems. Teachers should have to grade tests and get the results back to the students within a few days. This makes it real hard for me to see how I am doing if I think I am okay when I really am not. ff Update! When I look at other colleges and their offerings, I feel as if we're being left behind. And for goodness sakes, fix your website! gg BCCC is the BEST area community college that I know of and all of the staff and faculty make such efforts to offer the students the very best academic experiences possible. I am a returning student after being in the workforce for more than twenty years and the transition back to a full time student was made so much easier by the kind, caring individuals who work at BCCC. When my daughter is old enough to attend, she will attend BCCC for her general college courses prior to transferring to a four year college. The campus is kept immaculately as well. It is so beautiful especially this time of year in the spring with the flowers and trees. I wouldn't change a thing! I love it! (Yes, I meant every!!! too. LOL..) hh Please follow Beaufort County Schools inclement weather decisions. When children are out of school, parents need to be also. ii please get more parking spaces closer to the buildings, getting wet and cold makes you not want to show up for class Page 8

jj I love BCCC better than any other college in NC. My concern is that most students that I know that have Medical Office degrees are still working their same job like Wal Mart, grocery stores, McDonalds, etc. I feel that students should be able to train in hospital settings for some time if it will help us get the job. This includes Coding positions as well. I just don t feel like we re given a fair chance at all. This is why so many students continue to come back to BCCC not because of the money but due to a lack of jobs and not given a chance. kk i think that the nursing program should be based on a little more than just a gpa or points other qualification such as NA OR SOMETHING MEDICAL ll The 150 Percent Rule shouldn't apply to students who started school again from 10+ years ago, even though some of the classes apply now, which is a good thing, that I don't have to take those classes. mm Please offer more online classes for the summer nn Need sidewalk from the parking lot behind the cosmetology building into the writing lab. oo Run the college for the benefit of students first instead of staff first. (No one on the staff who reads this comment will understand it.) pp All jobs openings at BCCC should be opened to the general public. qq I am concerned about the early college high school program. I have had classes with the above mentioned population and I am less than satisfied with things. I have never been in a college level class where students laugh, giggle, throw things and are disruptive and disrespectful until they were incorporated into the college classes. They are interrupting my learning and it is not fair. I PAY to get a college education in an adult atmosphere. BCCC is not a high school but the behaviors from these children are making it that way. If they are going to take college courses, they should have instructors go to them in Bldg. 10 and keep them out of the college classrooms. It is not fair to those of us who pay and get less of an education because of them. As for the cafeteria, they are rude and the language is horrible. I will no longer eat in there. I liked to eat and study there but that is no longer an option. The food is not good anymore and it changed when they were incorporated into BCCC. PLEASE do something about this and keep BCCC on the college level and leave out the high school antics. It is no place for it. If they cannot act like adults in an adult setting, they need to go back to high school or stay in bldg. 10. rr Making sure all teachers realize that students are here to learn and grow. When I entered BCCC a lot of math that is being taught now was not even being taught in my day. So I was fresh and had to work even harder to keep up with the younger crowd. When you get a teacher/teachers who prefer younger students with a snapper mind it makes learning harder. I failed math that year, but refused to let my experience with that teacher stop me from getting my degree. I returned under a different teacher and passed. There are teachers who live to teach and to help others to be successful, and there are teachers who teach because it is an obligation to their degree. The attitudes make a big difference in learning and understanding; it can contribute to a successful student or a detoured student from BCCC. Thank you for the dedicated teachers. ss The campus is clean and beautiful. THe only courses I took were in building 9. The janitor in building 9 is the nicest man I've ever known. He is very helpful to the students and college employees. tt Parking is a big issue at the school during the morning hours...parking needs to be addressed so you park in your areas of study and visitor slots should be available at each building. uu I have taken computer classes over the years, the problem remains the same, BCCC uses old software. The patients (in nursing homes) cannot go to you. If you could come to us would be very educational. Black History, Local history. I like health courses. I am 69 years old, graduate of Washington High, Chowan College, Newport News Nuclear program for refunding Atomic Power Receptors on Subs, floating vessels, U.S.S. Enterprise. CVA6S. I still like to learn more about the human body. That is very important subject to me. I not going into any profession. I am retired because of a brain hemorrhage. Thanks, Ridgewood Manor. Page 9
