1 Installation and Running of RADR Requirements System requirements: Intel based Macintosh with OS X 10.5 or Higher. 20MB of free diskspace, 1GB ram and Internet connection. Software requirements: Native Instruments Traktor Pro 1.2 higher and/or Serato Scratch Live and/or Ableton Live. Installation of RADR This section will cover installing the RADR application Download and unzip the RADR application, then start the install by clicking on the RADR package. After the install has completed you can now start the application to configure it. Open RADR from the Applications directory (unless you chose somewhere else to install it). Once this has started you will have the default window and an icon in the task bar as follows. Choose File - > Preferences to open the preferences pane.

3 Make sure the Active button is check marked for the program you are using. In this case we are using Traktor and we have it set on with the default port of 8000 listed. In the case of Serato we can set a delay time in seconds. This is not required for Traktor as it is set in the Traktor preferences.

4 Twitter settings. Check the Active button for updates to twitter to be enabled. Click on the Start Authentication Method or Request New Token button to begin the setup for the connector to Twitter. The system does not need your password but you will have to authorize the application. This is done with a special PIN. Enter

5 your username and password and click Authorize App. Twitter will return a PIN which is to be entered in the area provided in the browser and then click Authorize located under the area where you type the PIN.

6 Once you have entered the correct PIN code you will get a success Message. RADR is now connected to your Twitter Account and you should be able to post updates from the RADR software. You can click on the test button once you have authorized the application and a message will show up in your Twitter Feed.

7 Additional Configuration: You can also set the custom message for when the application updates to Twitter. 8 Set the proxy setting to Use direct connection (no proxy). The server settings should be as follows, your Address is and port is 8000, the mount path is stream.ogg and the password can be set to anything. Set the format to Ogg Vorbis 11025hz, 32 kbit/s. We use the lowest stream since we are only interested in the track name and not the audio. Close this when you are finished. You can also configure the Play Count located in the Transport section that will define the time in seconds that Traktor will hold the track before sending. Running RADR and Traktor: Next with the RADR app running, go to the recording and broadcast section of Traktor Pro (this is found by clicking the tape icon in the top right of Traktor). Click on the broadcast button to start the session, the light should stay on solid if there is a connection to the icecast server. If it is blinking there is a problem with the settings and you must check your configurations. Traktor is now sending updates to RADR can pick up and send to Twitter. To start sending Track Tweets, just go to the RADR application and press the start button. Even though the RADR program is running it does not send the updates to Twitter

Check to make sure that there is a directory named _Serato_ located inside you Music Folder Then in the Preferences of RADR, confirm that the Serato Listener is active and set your delay time if desired. The delay defines how long a track is on a deck before the information is updated to Twitter.

10 Serato Live now ready and RADR can pick up and send track info to Twitter. To start sending Track Tweets, just go to the RADR application and press the start button. RADR will not start check Serato until there is a file placed on the decks and the start button has been pressed.

12 RADR will also try and get your location based on the IP address if Location services is enabled or by pressing the refresh button next to the Location field. If the location field is filled out then the system will send start and stop updates to Twitter to notify followers that you have started playing and to signify that you have finished your set. You may also send tweets directly from the RADR interface with out having to go to the website and login. Simply type in a message in the Twitter Update field to send messages to the followers of your live stream. Activate HUD - This will float a small window with Track names as they are being updated. This can be useful for making sure the system is picking up track ID s. Enjoy.
