1 AUTHOR BIOGRAPHIES Ashot Abrahamyan is a doctoral student at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University with Methods and Systems of Information Assurance specialization and expects to complete his PhD in The title of the dissertation is "About Some Models of Information Security Management Processes of Financial Systems". He finished his high school from the specialized Physical-Mathematical School at Yerevan State University in 2005 and completed his bachelor's degree with honors in 2009 from the Applied Mathematics and Informatics Department of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University. He was simultaneously enrolled in the department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics graduate program of Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University and the graduate program Industrial Engineering and Systems Management at American University of Armenia. He graduated from both of those programs in He is the author of 6 scientific articles and 2 methodological textbooks. Since 2010 he is working at the Esolarm Training and Testing Center as a tutor, test center administrator and systems administrator. Thomas P. Abt leads the State s efforts to enhance public safety and ensure the wellbeing of New York s families and neighborhoods as the Cuomo Administration s Deputy Secretary for Public Safety. Prior to joining New York State, Mr. Abt served as Chief of Staff to the Office of Justice Programs at the U.S. Department of Justice where he coordinated the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention. Mr. Abt was also an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan. Hashem Assayari, a graduate student in the Computer Security Department, has completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Science at Rochester Institute of Technology. His background knowledge in Computer Science along with his degree in Computer Security allows him to have a great understanding of networks, security, how programs work and how the underlying operating system behave. He recently developed a great interest in the Covert Communication field. He anticipates his background combination will be beneficial in further research and development of the covert communication field. Dr. Ibraham Baggili is an Assistant Professor at the Tagliatela College of Engineering. He is also the Director of UNHcFREG University of New Haven Cyber Forensics Research and Education Group. Guarav Balajwar is presently pursuing his M.Tech in Computer Science & Engg. (Cyber Security) in the Dept. of Computer Engineering at Defence Institute of Advanced Technology. His research interest includes Digital Forensics, Network Security and Cryptography. His current research is focused in the area of Digital Evidence Detection using Disk Image. Harkeerat Singh Bedi is a graduate student pursuing his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Memphis. He completed his Masters in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in August His current research involves application of game theory in network security for its analysis and enhancement. Michael Bingham is a master s student in the Carleton Computer Security Lab at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. His research interests include authentication, machine learning, anomaly detection and computational linguistics. Richard E. Clarke, Chairman and CEO of Good Harbor Consulting, LLC and former senior White House advisor for the last three administrations. Prior to serving in the White House, Mr. Clarke served for 19 years in the Pentagon, the State Department, and various intelligence agencies. 2 National Security And What To Do About It. Michael Daniel is a Special Assistant to the President and the Cybersecurity Coordinator. In this position, Michael leads the interagency development of national cybersecurity strategy and policy, and he oversees agencies implementation of those policies. Michael also ensures that the federal government is effectively partnering with the private sector, non-governmental organizations, other branches and levels of government, and other nations. Prior to coming to the National Security Staff, Michael served for 17 years with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Michael played a key role in shaping intelligence budgets, improving the management of the IC, and resolving major IC policy issues including cybersecurity, counterterrorism spending, and information sharing and safeguarding. Michael received a Bachelor s in Public Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, and a Master s in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Dipankar Dasgupta received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1981 and his Master's degree in Computer Engineering in 1986 from India. He received his Ph. D. in Computer Science from Strathclyde University, Glasgow (UK) in Dr. Dasgupta joined the University of Memphis, Tennessee in 1997 and currently a Professor of Computer Science. Before joining the University of Memphis he worked at two other universities and industry. Dr. Dasgupta is the founding Director of Center for Information Assurance, a National Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE-IAE) and in Research (CAE- R). He spearheads the University of Memphis's research, education and outreach activities on Information Assurance (IA). His research interests include application of Computational Intelligence and cyber security. He received research funding from different federal agencies including the U.S. Navy, NSF, DARPA, DoD, ONR, DHS and IARPA. Prof. Dasgupta has more than 210 publications, which are being widely cited (3,800+ citations and h-index of 51). Dr. Dasgupta is one of the pioneers of immunological computation field and his work on digital immunity put his name in Computer World Magazine. Kalyanmoy Deb is Koenig Endowed Chair Professor at Electrical and Computer Engineering in Michigan State University. Prof. Deb's research interests are in evolutionary optimization and their application in optimization, modeling, and machine learning. He was awarded the `Infosys Prize', the `TWAS Prize' in Engineering Sciences, the `CajAstur Mamdani Prize', the `Distinguished Alumni Award' from IIT Kharagpur, 'Edgeworth-Pareto' award, and the Bhatnagar Prize in Engineering Sciences. He is fellow of IEEE, ASME, and three science academies in India. He has published 350+ research papers with Google Scholar citation of 55,000+ with h-index 78. He is on the editorial board of 18 major international journals. Clare Doherty is a PhD candidate at National University of Ireland Galway. Her research area is Information Systems Privacy and Security. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters degree in Electronic Commerce from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She previously worked for Storm Technology. Brett Ferris is a graduate student at the University of New Haven in the Computer Science Network Systems degree program. Manish Gupta is a Vice President in Information Security Department at M&T Bank. He is also Adjunct Assistant Professor at State University of New York at Buffalo, NY. He has more than fifteen years of experience in information systems, security policies and technologies. He has edited or co-edited 7 books in the area of information security and assurance. He holds several professional designations including CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CFE, CIW Security Analyst, and PMP. Shawn Henry, President and Chief Security Officer of CrowdStrike Services and former Executive Assistant Director of the Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he oversaw all of the FBI s criminal and cyber programs and investigations worldwide. Mr. Henry also led the establishment of the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force ( NCIJTF ), a multi-agency cyber security center. Ibukun O. Eweoya graduated from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria with B.Tech (Hons.) Computer Science. He proceeded to European University of Lefke, Cyprus for an M.Sc in Computer Engineering. He is on a Ph.D in Computer Science at Covenant University, Ota, where he is a faculty. His current research areas are: Cryptography and Network Security, Software Engineering and Embedded Systems Security. Daryl Johnson, Associate Professor of Computing Security, has developed over thirteen and codeveloped over a dozen new courses in the areas of security, networking, and systems administration as well as redesigning and contributing to many others. He has been involved in the creation of three departments and five degrees. Most of his attention over the last decade has been in the area of computer and network security with a focus on Covert Communication, Botnet command and control, mobile security, and application of virtualization in the security field. He has authored over two-dozen papers in the security area. He was one of the founders of the Northeast Collegiate Cyber Competition and is serving his 7th year as the NECCDC Red Team Captain. Andre Karamanian has been a consultant at Cisco Systems for over 10 years. He graduated from Capital College with a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Systems Security / Information Assurance in Andre has CCIE, CCNP, CISSP, CCSP, CCNP, CCSE, and Nortel Alteon certifications. Sachin Lala is a Masters Graduate in Management Information Systems from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. He has more than 6 years of professional experience with US based financial services organizations. He has worked on various projects related to Fraud monitoring and Anti-Money Laundering in his professional career. His graduate coursework focused on Information Security and research in IT auditing. He received his Bachelor s degree in Information Technology from the University of Mumbai in Dr. Michael Lang has been a lecturer in information systems at NUI Galway since 1996, having previously worked for a number of years in industry. His research and teaching areas are information systems development; business system analysis & design; information systems security & ethics; and information systems education. Dr. Lang's work has featured in a number of leading international journals, including IEEE Multimedia, IEEE Software, Information & Software Technology, Requirements Engineering, Information Systems Management, Communications of the AIS, Journal of Information Systems Education, and Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems. He has also presented at numerous international workshops and conferences. He is currently serving on the editorial board of three international journals and the ASIA 14-81

Benjamin M. Lawsky led Governor Andrew Cuomo s initiative as New York s first Superintendent of Financial Services to make the Department of Financial Services into a modern unified financial regulator. He is the former chief of staff to Governor Cuomo and was Deputy Counsel to then-attorney General Cuomo. Prior to that, Mr. Lawsky was an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief Counsel to New York Senator Chuck Schumer. Petter Lovaas has his B.S in Information Technology Management from the University of Minnesota, and his M.S and D.Sc. in Information Assurance and Computer Security from Dakota State University, a national Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance awarded by the National Security Agency. Dr. Lovaas currently teaches in the Computer and Information Sciences department at Niagara University as an assistant professor teaching Computer Forensics and Computer Security courses. Dr. Lovaas also has extensive experience in information security consulting with the Banking and Financial sector. Dr. Lovaas has several national and international publications in highly recognized outlets. Sanjay Misra is Professor of computer engineering in Covenant University, OTA, Nigeria. He also served as head of department of computer engineering from Feb (2010) to October (2011) and head of Cyber Security department from Oct September 2012 in Federal University of Technology, Minna Nigeria. He is a software engineer and previously held academic positions at Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria, Atilim University, Turkey, Subharati University, and UP Technical University India. He is also adjunct/visiting Professor in University of Alcala, Spain, UCV, Valparaiso, Chile, UNICEN, Tandil, Argentina and Atilim University Turkey. His current researches cover the areas of (but not limited to): Software quality, software process improvement, software project management, object oriented technologies, XML, SOA, Web Services, and cognitive informatics and cyber security. He is author of 150 papers (Majority of them are in ISI Web of Sciences) in these areas and got several awards for outstanding publications. He has delivered keynote and invited speeches in several international conferences (including IEEE/Elsevier sponsored conferences). He is Editor in Chief of book series on Advances in IT Personals and Project management (IGI Global), author of 1 book and editor (one of) of 9 LNCS (Springer) and 2 IEEE conference proceedings. He is General Chair of 6th IEEE ICAST and chair of three annual international workshops: Software Engineering Process and Applications (SEPA) (Springer), Tools and Techniques in Software Development Process ( ) (IEEE), Software Quality (2009) (IEEE), ( (in LNCS) and Software Metrics and Measurement (2009) (IEEE)) in area of Software Engineering. Presently, he is chief editor of International Journal of Physical Sciences and founder EIC of Covenant J. of ICT(An official Journal of Covenant University) and International Journal of Computer Science and Software Technology (IJCSST) and serving as editor/ associate editor/ editorial board member of several journals of international repute. Abhijit Kumar Nag is a PhD student in the department of Computer Science at The University of Memphis. His research interest includes authentication systems, evolutionary algorithms, cyber security and bio-inspired computing. He completed his master s in Computer Engineering in 2012 and B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in Dr. Tae (Tom) Oh is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Information Sciences and Technology and Dept. of Computing Security at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). His research focus has been mobile device security, smart grid, mobile ad-hoc networks and security, and cyber security. He has over 20 years of experience in networking and telecommunication as ASIA 14-82
5 an engineer and research for several telecom and defense companies. Before he joined RIT, he was a Principle Systems Engineer at Rockwell Collins where he was leading the advanced architecture development of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks for Military Applications. Additionally, he lead/supported OPNET modeling and simulation team for secret projects and actively pursued funding from DARPA, Air Force Research Lab and Army Research Lab. Prior to Rockwell, he worked for Ceterus Networks, Ericsson, Nortel Networks and Raytheon. Dr. Oh received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1991 and received MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 1995 and 2001, respectively, while working for telecommunication and defense companies. He has published numerous technical articles and holds several patents as well as several teamwork and teaching awards from Nortel and Ericsson. Lastly, he is a Technical Editor of IEEE Communications Magazine and IEEE Networks, and received several grants from Office of Naval Research, Rochester General Hospital, and mobile security companies. William F. Pelgrin is currently the President and CEO of the Center for Internet Security (CIS) located in East Greenbush. Prior to his current position, he served for 29 years in state government, as director and Chief Cyber Security Officer of the New York State Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination ("CSCIC"), where he founded the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center. Philip R. Reitinger, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer of the Sony Corporation and former Director of the National Cyber Security Sector at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Previously, Mr. Reitinger had positions at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he assisted in securing critical infrastructure systems. Mr. Reitinger worked previously for the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice, and Microsoft. Allen Sabernick is a Systems Engineer / Administrator in Information Services at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Char Sample is a Security Solutions Engineer at Carnegie Mellon University CERT. She received her Ph.D. in Information Assurance and M.S. in Systems Management from Capitol College and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh. She is an academically and professionally experienced cyber security professional with over 19 years of experience in network security and software engineering. Internet security experiences include expertise with firewalls, IDS, IPS, Anomaly Detection, DNS, DNSSEC, mail, routing, authentication, encryption, secure network architectures, cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS) and Unix internals. She is experienced in designing and developing Internet security products and is an internationally recognized as the leading expert in quantitative cultural cyber threat intelligence. Hon. Howard A. Schmidt, a Partner at Ridge-Schmidt Cyber, LLC, who brings 31 years of public service in the cyber security field including a position as President Obama s White House Cyber Security Coordinator and Special Adviser for Cyberspace Security for President George W. Bush. Mr. Schmidt also served as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for ebay Inc., and formerly served as the Chief Security Officer for Microsoft. Shwadhin Sharma is a graduate student at Mississippi State University. Raj Sharman is an Associate Professor in the Management Science and Systems Department of the State University of New York at Buffalo. His expertise is in the areas of Information Assurance and the development of Biologically Inspired Computer Security Models, Disaster Preparedness and Response Management, Patient Safety and Health Care Systems. He has published widely in National and International journals and is the recipient of several grants from university and external agencies, including the National Science Foundation. Dr. Saijan Shiva is currently Professor and Chairman of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Memphis. He received his doctoral degree from Auburn University. He is an Emeritus Professor of Computer Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and has served on the Computer Science faculty at Alabama A&M University. Chris B. Simmons is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Informatics at Lipscomb University. He is a Ph.D. candidate in the Computer Science Department at the University of Memphis where he will graduate in August His research interests include the development of secure software and knowledge management systems that assist organizations with becoming cognizant of security, as well as, technology and education. His work has appeared in Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges and Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, among others. Prior to pursuing a Ph.D., Chris held positions as Software Engineer and Software Development Lead for companies such as FedEx and the Boeing Company. Dr. Upasna Singh is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Computer Engineering at Defence Institute of Advanced Technology. Her research interest includes Big Data Analysis, Data Theft Detection, Social Network Analysis, Machine Intelligence and Soft Computing. Adam Skillen received his Masters degree in Information Systems Security in 2013 at Concordia University in Canada. In 2013 Adam began PhD research at Carleton University looking into privacy and security of mobile devices. Adam s main interests are storage encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms. Anil Somayaji is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. He received a B.S. (1994) in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. (2002) in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico. He has served as the program committee chair of the New Security Paradigms Workshop and has served on the program committees of major computer security venues including ACM CCS, USENIX Security, ACSAC, and RAID, among others. His research interests include computer security, operating systems, complex adaptive systems, and artificial life. Jay Stahle is a graduate student at the University of New Haven in the Computer Science Network Systems degree program. Merrill Warkentin is a Professor of MIS and the Richard Puckett Notable Scholar in the College of Business at Mississippi State University. He earned his Ph.D.in MIS at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. His research focuses on behavioral issues in IS Security and electronic group collaboration. He has authored over 250 manuscripts and six books. He is serving as Associate Editor for MIS Quarterly, European Journal of Information Systems, and Information & Management. He has chaired several international conferences, including IFIP and WISP. His work has been supported by the U.S. Navy, NSA, the IRS, the UN, Homeland Security, IBM, and others.
