1 Moving Home the Feng Shui Way Check List Introduction This check list is for anyone who is moving home at the just thinking about it stage or the now it s really happening stage. Changing where you live is universally acknowledged as a high stress time. Following the guidelines in this check list will help you bring the stress levels down, and the positive anticipation and excitement levels up. For anyone moving in difficult circumstances, perhaps a divorce, it offers a way to make the move a turning point towards a new and better life. Use it to ensure you have the best possible start in your new home, whether you are moving out of choice or necessity. 1) Do Changes for the Year in your present home Please see my website This year, this involves finding the West of your home as measured from the geometric centre, and dispersing the energy there. If you are unsure how to take a compass reading and/or find the geometric centre of your home, please see the appendix at the end of this checklist. To do this, remove all red objects, cut glass crystal, round glass faceted balls, clear quartz crystal and mirrors. Then hang a 6 hollow tubed metal wind chime in the West or use a green plant in this area. After the Chinese New Year on the 4 th February 2016, the Changes for the Year need to be done in the North East of your home. After the Chinese New Year on the 4 th February 2017, the Changes for the Year need to be done in the South of your home.

2 Get initial feng shui advice for your new place, and identify how you will do the Changes for the Year there. Decide whether you will use a 6 hollow tubed metal wind chime or a plant to balance this energy. Make sure it arrives with you on the day you move in. 2) Find out if you are moving with or against the energy If you have a choice, it is always better to move with the energy. Please check my website: The Feng Shui Moving Guide has more detailed information on good directions for moves for all 9 Star Ki numbers up until the beginning of February Remember, if you do not have a good number for the move, your partner may. Otherwise you can ask a friend with the right number to pick the date for you, and suggest how you actually do it. If you know you will be moving against the energy start setting up the counter-balances. This includes how you will fit in 30 minutes of spiritual practice a day, or alone time in nature. Doing the feng shui in your new home is also a counter-balance. 3) New Earth Re-pot all your houseplants, preferably into plastic containers so that they will be easy to move. Do this even if you are not taking them with you, as symbolically you are replanting yourself into new earth. Arrange who will have your plants. Will you given them away or will you sell them?

3 4) All living things! Children and pets need very clear arrangements for the day of your move. Ideally you will have someone with you whose specific task is to look after them whilst you oversee the move. Best case scenario is that they are somewhere else altogether whilst the actual packing up and loading is happening. You can then meet up with them to travel together once all the loading is complete OR, whoever looks after them takes them to your new home. Spending money on this, if necessary, is not an indulgence. It will ensure peace of mind for you and greater calmness for them. You can expect them to play up anyway! This is one of the reasons that the Helpful People area and the North West of your home (see No. 5 next) are so important, never more so than on the day you actually move! 5) Helpful People and Travel Helpful People and the North West relate to travel and flow in your life, as well as cash flow. Consequently, they are very important spaces when you are planning to move. For this reason, make sure that the North West of your home (as measured from the geometric centre) is clean, clear and uncluttered. Do the same for the Helpful People area of your home. Stand outside your front door facing it as if you were going to walk in. Walk into your home. Stretch out both your arms to the side of you. The building line of your home in line with your right hand marks the Helpful People area.

4 Front Door Overlay the Bagua onto your floor plan. Turn your floor plan so that the front door is along the bottom line of the Bagua i.e. your front door will fall in one of the follow three areas: - Transformation, Career or Helpful People. NB If you are going through a divorce or any other major challenge as well as the move, making sure that the Transformation area is clean, clear and uncluttered will also be very helpful. 6) De-clutter with a Vengeance! Remember you are paying to move things. If you don t love it or use it, why pay for it to come with you? Your bookshelves and wardrobe(s) are good places to begin.

5 7) Clear the Past Arrange for an energy clearing of your present home so that the whole process of moving will be easier. I usually recommend getting professional help to do this even if you know who to space clear yourself. The more thorough the energetic clearing is, the easier you will find things falling into place. At the same time, arrange for an energy clearing for your new home to happen just before your move there. 8) Transition When you start to pack things up in each room label every box with its contents stack the boxes around the walls avoid putting things in the centres of your rooms keep the corridors and stairways clear (in your new home as well!) The reason for this is to keep as much flow as possible in your existing home for as long as possible. 9) This is who I am/who we are Put all your important documents together passports birth and marriage certificates health insurance documents including national health insurance and European health insurance cards prescriptions ID cards credit and debit cards bank statements Ideally make 2 copies of everything 1 electronic copy and 1 hard copy. Make sure the electronic copy is stored on a back up drive or saved in the cloud at the very least. Your hard copies can go to your solicitor or a trusted friend. Needless to say the originals should travel with you on the day of your move.

6 Appendix How To Take A Compass Reading All compass readings relate to where they are taken. In order to do the Changes For The Year correctly, you need to be standing in the centre of your home, more about that later. A very simple compass is sufficient, although an orienteering one is more precise. Remove all your jewellery. This includes your watch. Also make sure your mobile phone is not on your person. This is to ensure that your reading is as accurate as possible. Place the compass in the palm of your hand. A compass is fundamentally a base or body with a floating needle in the centre of it. Wait for the floating needle to stop moving. The red arrow of the needle points North. Gently rotate the body of the compass so that the N for North lines up with where the arrow is pointing. This gives you your reading for North. You can now read off from the compass all the other directions. How To Find The Geometric Centre Of Your Home Draw a simple floor plan of your home. (Please see the drawing below). Be aware that if you have a garage and/or other out buildings within 120ft. (36 meters) of your home, they need to be included in the diagram. Certainly a garage that has an adjoining wall with the house or apartment needs to be included.

7 Diagram A Draw straight diagonal lines across from the corners, assuming your home is rectangular or square in shape. The geometric centre is where these diagonal lines intersect. If your home is an irregular shape: Divide it up into rectangles or squares Find the geometric centre of each of the rectangles or squares. Draw a straight line between these two centres. The mid point of this line is the geometric centre of the whole house/apartment. Please see diagram B. It may be that your home divides up into more than 2 rectangles and/or squares. If so, follow the same procedure as above for each rectangle or square. Then find the centre point between pairs of adjacent rectangles/squares. Link these centre points up. Find the mid-point in each case until you arrive at one final mid-point.
