3 ANNOTATIONS A.I. Sidorov. The Church Theology in the Period from the First till the Second Ecumenical Council ( ) The theological mainstreams in the period between the First and the Second Ecumenical Council are considered in this work. It is stated that although this period is usually characterized as the age of Triadological (Trinitarian) discussions, the main driving forces of the dogmatic polemic in this time were the questions of the Christology and Soteriology. Alexey Ivanovich Sidorov is a Doctor of Church History, Full Professor at the Moscow Orthodox. Deacon Sergy Charykov. The Apocalyptic Motives in the Books of the Old Testament Prophets Until recent time in Western studies the origin and flourishing of apocalyptic writing is related to II BC. However, a number of written sources found in the XX century allow to move the origin of apocalyptic genre at least to the IV BC. Therefore it is quite legitimate to make a research of apocalyptic genre in the prophetic books of the Old Testament. Deacon Sergy Charykov is a Candidate of Theology, Teacher at the Saint Petersburg Orthodox. Priest Dimitry Yurevich. The Problem of the Exodus Chronology in the Light of the Archaeological Data After the excavations in Jericho in the XX century by J. Garstang and K. Kenyon the viewpoint of the latter about the destruction of the city in 1550 BC began to dominate. This date questioned the biblical narrative of the exodus. The analysis of artifacts conducted by B. Wood offers a different dating 1400 BC. This is consistent with the so called «early» date of the exodus of Jews from Egypt (1440) and gives an interesting interpretation of the Biblical text. Priest Dimitry Yurevich is a Candidate of Theology, Pro Rector for Scientific Work at the Saint Petersburg Orthodox. 174
4 P.K. Dobrotsvetov. Saint Eulogy of Alexandria ( ): the Personality, the Life, the Compositions In the article the life and work of the Patriarch of Alexandria Church Eulogy who was the Saint and Theologian of VI VII centuries, is considered. The research preceded by a description of historical, religious and state political situation in the Byzantine Empire in V VII centuries with special attention to Egypt. The article includes almost all known biographical information about Saint Eulogy, provides a complete list of the preserved or referred to him name compositions with a brief overview of their theological content, along with main conclusions. Pavel Kirillovich Dobrotsvetov is a Candidate of Philosophy, Teacher at the Moscow Orthodox. Saint Eulogy of Alexandria. The Fragments from the Christological and Triadological Compositions The translation of selected works of Saint Eulogy, Patriarch of Alexandria, on Christological and Triadological subjects, preserved in fragments quoted by other authors. The compositions bring up the topics of protection and an explanation of the meaning of the Chalcedonian Oros, its connection with theology of Saint Cyril of Alexandria, as well as for understanding such fundamental concepts of Christian theology as hypostasis, nature, etc. In conclusion, there is a discussion regarding the boundaries of Jesus Christ's knowledge. I.V. Bazilenko. The Influence of Bahá'í Faith Ideas on L.N. Tolstoy's ( ) World Outlook The article deals with little known facts of the biography of L.N. Tolstoy, related to the history of his fascination with exotic oriental cults, in particular, Bahá'í Faith that had a noticeable effect on the world outlook of L.N. Tolstoy in the last years of his active life. Igor Vadimovich Bazilenko is a Doctor of History, Full Professor at the Saint Petersburg State University as well as at the Saint Petersburg Orthodox Theological. 175
