ISI Web of Science Citation index Impact Factor h-index Web EndNote
Citation index Citation indexes track references that authors put in the bibliographies of published papers. They provide a way to search for and analyze the literature in a way not possible through simple keyword/ topical searching.
Citation index It also enables users to gather data on the "impact" of journals, as well as assessing particular areas of research activity and publication. This field is called bibliometrics.
Impact Factor The impact factor of a journal is a quantitative tool for evaluating the relative importance of a journal. It is a measure of the frequency with which its published papers are cited up to two years after publication.
Impact Factor It is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field. Journals with higher impact factors seem to be more important than those with lower ones.
Impact Factor Numerous criticisms have been made of the use of an impact factor, including the more general debate on the usefulness of citation metrics. Criticisms mainly concern the validity of the impact factor, policies that alter it, and its incorrect application.
Impact Factor The impact factor for a journal is calculated based on a three-year period, and can be considered to be: the average number of times published papers are cited up to two years after publication
For example, the impact factor 2010 for a journal would be calculated as follows: A = the number of times articles published in were cited in indexed journals during 2010 B = the number of articles, reviews, proceedings or notes published in Impact factor 2010 = A/B (note that the impact factor 2010 will be actually published in 2011, because it could not be calculated until all of the 2010 publications had been received. Impact factor 2011 will be published in 2012)
ISI Web of Knowledge is an academic citation indexing and search service, which is combined with web linking and provided by Thomson Reuters. apps.webofknowledge.com/
ISI Web of Knowledge is a research platform that gives you access to objective content and powerful tools to search, track, measure and collaborate in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. This intelligent research platform provides access to the world's leading citation databases, including powerful cited reference searching, Analyze Tool, and over 100 years of comprehensive backfile and citation data. apps.webofknowledge.com/
Why use Web of Knowledge? Citations symbolize the association of scientific ideas. Web of Knowledge uniquely indexes both cited and citing works - which enables the user to make explicit links between current research and prior scientific works.
Why use Web of Knowledge? Use citation analysis to find influential authors who are publishing high-impact research in your field, discover important author and/or institutional research collaborations, determine where the most impactful research is being published.
Why use Web of Knowledge? Analyze research from high-impact journals in the Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities, and seamlessly link to full-text articles
The database includes the following: 23,000 academic and science journals (Including Web of Science journal listings) 23,000,000 patents 110,000 conference proceedings 9,000 websites Coverage from the year 1900 to present day (with Web of Science) Over 40 million source items

What's the difference between Web of Science and Web of Knowledge? Web of Knowledge is a comprehensive research platform, which means it brings together many different types of content for searching. Journal articles, patents, websites, conference proceedings, Open Access material all can be accessed through one interface, using a variety of powerful search and analysis tools. Web of Science can be found within Web of Knowledge. This resource offers access to journal articles in the sciences, social sciences and arts and humanities. Web of Science contains over 100 years of valuable research, fully indexed and crosssearchable.

Two questions "How many times have my publications been cited?" "What is my h-index? These questions are more easily asked than answered.
h-index The h-index is an index that attempts to measure both the productivity and impact of the published work of a scientist or scholar. The h-index is based on the distribution of citations received by a given researcher.
h-index A RESEARCHER WITH AN INDEX OF h HAS PUBLISHED h PAPERS EACH OF WHICH HAS BEEN CITED IN OTHER PAPERS AT LEAST h TIMES.
h-index Thus, the h-index reflects both the number of publications and the number of citations per publication. The index is designed to improve upon simpler measures such as the total number of citations or publications. The index works properly only for comparing scientists working in the same field; citation conventions differ widely among different fields.
