3 1. GENERAL INFORMATION E-1 PRECAUTIONS Installing and servicing of air conditioning equipment can be hazardous due to system pressure and electrical components. Only trained and qualified service personnel should install or service this equipment. Untrained personnel can perform basic maintenance function such as cleaning coil and filters. Trained service personnel should perform all other operations. When working on air conditioning equipment, observe precautions in the literature, tags and labels attached to the unit. WARNINGS The operating voltge of electrical power supply should be within the voltage mentioned on unit nameplate data. The capacity of electrical kwh counter should be larger than the operating currents required for air conditioner(s) and any other electrical domestic appliances in use simultaneously from the same supply. The installation of electrical distribution box after the electrical KWH counter is necessary to properly distribute the electrical loads. The electrical distribution box should be equipped with circuit breakers according to the electrical loads. For each installed air conditioner, a separate circuit breaker with its own overload should be installed on the electrical distribution box. The installation of two-pole automatic circuit breaker is necessary to operate the air conditioner. The circuit breaker must be installed to be far away from any flammable materials (curtains etc.). The circuit breaker must be suitable for air conditioner. Disconnect the electrical mains supply prior to any maintenance operations or prior to handling any internal unit parts. The manufacturer declines any liability for damage resulting from modifications or errors in the electrical or refrigerant connections, made during the installation, or from the improper use of this equipment. This will void the unit warranty immediately. Failure to observe electrical safety codes may cause a fire hazard in case of short circuits. This system will only work safely and correctly, if installed and tested by qualified personnel. Do not open the electronic remote controller to avoid possible damage. In case of malfunction contact a qualified service engineer. The unit contains rotating equipment (fan). Ensure that this is out of reach for children. Be conscious of the room temperature and general comfort, particularly when this is used near children, senior or handicapped people. For correct use, the air conditioner must operate within the temperature limits indicated in the table Operating Limits included in the installation manual. Incorrect use of the system outside these limits may cause malfunction and dripping water. Controller batteries contain polluting elements. When exhausted, they must be disposed of in accordance with local requirements. Do not switch off the split system by disconnecting the electric power supply. The system must always be switched off using the remote control.

In these cycles, the indoor fan will be automatically off and cannot operate until defrost cycle is completed. 3. CONSIDERATIONS FOR OPTIMUM COMFORT & LOWEST CONSUMPTION Keep room temperature to comfort levels Do not open doors and windows more frequently than necessary When in cooling, avoid direct sun in the room to be air-conditioned, if possible shut curtains or shades.

5 4. SPLIT SYSTEM DESCRIPTION E-3 Wired Room Controller (Standard) (Option) Notes: (1) The wired room controller is standard factory supplied with the indoor unit. (2) The wired room controller is mounted on the wall and can control all system functions without wireless remote control. (3) The wireless remote control is an option as per requirement. If wireless remote control is required, it will be used with factory standard room controller.

(You can hear a receiving beep) If you press this key immediately after turning off the system, the compressor will not operate for 3 minutes to prevent overloading. 2 OPERATION MODE SELECTING KEY Toggles the operation mode: Cool, Dry, Heat, or Fan only COOL Led Lights on when selecting COOL mode. DRY Led Lights on when selecting DRY mode. HEAT Led Lights on when selecting Heat mode. FAN Led Lights on when selecting FAN mode. 3 FAN SPEED SELECTING KEY Toggles the fan speed: Auto, High, Medium, or Low AUTO Led Lights on when selecting Auto fan speed. HIGH Led Lights on when selecting High fan speed. MED Led Lights on when selecting Medium fan speed. LOW Led Lights on when selecting Low fan speed. Note: Fan key is invalid in Dry mode. 4 TEMPREATURE UP KEY By pressing Temperature Up Key, the setting temperature increases by 1ºC with each press. 5 TEMPREATURE DOWN KEY By pressing temperature down key, the setting temperature decreases by 1ºC with each press. If you set the desired room temperature, then system will maintain the room temperature as set. In COOL mode, if the room temperature is higher than the setting, the compressor will automatically turn on provide a cooling effect. On the hand, if the room temperature is lower than the setting, the compressor will automatically turn off to stop cooling operation. In HEAT mode, if the room temperature is lower than the setting, the compressor for heat pump system will automatically turn on to provide a heating effect. If the room temperature is higher than the setting, the compressor for heat pump system will automatically turn off to stop heating operation. In Dry mode, the fan speed runs automatically at low speed and compressor stopping and running is controlled by the difference between room and setting temperatures. In Dry mode, the humidity is reducing in the space to be air-conditioned. In Fan mode, there will be no cooling or heating effects, only the fans of indoor unit will run for ventilation. Notes: (A) Temperature setting range is 16ºC to 30ºC or 60ºF to 85ºF. (B) Hold down at the same time for about 5 seconds, Temp down and fan keys will toggle the temperature setting from degree C to degree F and vice versa. (C) Press any temperature key will flash the current setting temperature for 4 seconds. Should there be no further key press, it will revert to room temperature display mode. Room temperature display range is 0C to 50C or 32F to 99F. (D) Temp keys are invalid in Fan mode.

To cancel the sleep timer press this key again. - Sleep function for healthy sleep to control automatically the room temperature and stop automatically the operation of the air conditioner after certain set off time. - Sleep mode is valid in cool or heat mode. Note: Sleep key is invalid in Fan mode. 7 TIMER KEY Upon count down of the number of set hours, the system will switch from OFF to ON or ON to OFF. - OFF Timer Function to stop automatically, the air conditioner after certain set OFF time. - ON Timer Function to start automatically, the air conditioner after certain set ON time. Timer setting is IHR to 24 HR. The timer led will light on when operating the Timer Function First key press will flash the digital display and Timer Led for 3 seconds. Notes: (A) The digital displays show the number of hours previously set, only the Timer Led flashes. (B) Subsequent 3 seconds will show the number of hours previously set, only the timer led flashes. (C) Should there be no further key press, it will revert to normal mode. (D) Should Timer key is not released timer setting will increase automatically every 0.5-second. 8 SENSOR Receives the remote controller s signal 9 DISPLAY SCREEN Displays the set temperature and displays also the TIMER settings when adjusting it.. 10 KEY LOCK MODE To activate key lock mode, hold down for 3 seconds, temp. Down Key (5) and Mode Key (2). In key lock mode, all keys are not valid except ON/OFF Key (1) to turn ON/OFF the system Notes: (A) Hold down Temp Down and Fan keys for one second to change the defrost termination temperature. Auto fan flashes and the temperature set range is 1 0 ºC ~ 15 ºC. With the same sequence to exit temp setting mode (B) Hold down Temp Down and Sleep button for one second to enter into coil temperature display mode. Press Temp Up key to display indoor coil temperature, High Fan LED flashes. Press Temp Down key to display outdoor coil temperature, Medium Fan LED flashes. With the same sequence to exit coil temperature display mode. Temperature display range is -9C to 78C.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR OPTIONAL WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL E-7 WHEN DIRECTING THE TRANSMITTER OF WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL TO THE RECEIVER OF INDOOR UNIT FROM A CERTAIN LOCATION, CHECK THE FOLLOWING POINTS: 1- Avoid direct sunlight on the receiver of indoor unit, which may interfere with good signal reception 2- No obstructions such as curtains or plants should be between the remote control and the receiver of room controller. 3- The maximum operating range for the remote control is approximately 5 meters. 4- The remote control must be directed toward the receiver of room controller when pressing the buttons of the desired functions. An acoustical acknowledgement sound (beep) will indicate that signal has been received. HOW TO INSERT BATTERIES: (a) Remove the cover of battery compartment at the back of the remote control by pressing the tab toward inside, in the direction of the arrow. (b) Mount the two-battery size AAA 1.5 Volt supplied with the remote control. Then close the cover of the battery component. Note: During mounting of batteries check battery symbols (+, -) indicated in batteries compartment. NOTES: 1. The remote control uses two alkaline batteries (2 X 1.5 Volt). 2. Do not use used batteries or batteries of different types, as this may cause the air conditioner to malfunction. 3. Batteries should only be changed after turning OFF the air conditioner. 4. The average battery life during normal use is approximately one year. 5. Batteries must be removed from the remote control before they are thrown away. 6. Batteries must be thrown away in safer way.

AIR FILTER CLEANING E-8 - The air filters supplied with the unit are high-efficiency washable and recyclable filters. - To establish, how frequently these should be cleaned, the operating conditions must be taken in to account. - CLEANING OF ACRYLIC-FIBRE STANDARD FILTERS: First clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner Rinse filter under running water, and dry it every month. Notes: (1) After cleaning, put the filters back in the correct positions. (2) Before operating the air conditioner, check that air filters are in their places inside unit. 8. PERIODICAL CHECKS For a good operation of the air conditioner it is recommended to carry out checks and maintenance as indicated.
