4 Biography Richard Albert Ross was born on August 30, 1920, in Racine, Wisconsin. He graduated from Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Illinois, in Richard, who was known as "Dick" to his friends, served as a Warrant Officer in the US Army during World War II. June Jennings Ross grew up in Houghton, Michigan, and graduated from Houghton High School in Richard and June met in California, where Richard started working for the California State Department of Employment in They were married in Richard retired in In 1977, Richard and June began the genealogical research that became their life's work and their lasting legacy. Richard died on February 16, 2005, at the age of 84.
