"Scandinavian Corporatism at the Crossroad?", a research program including political scientist from Denmark and Norway aiming for joint articles in spring "Labour-market Relations "(AREL) (A research program financed by the Swedish Worklife Institute in cooperation with Uppsala University) Proceeds to the end of This research program was preceded by "The Swedish Model in Transition" (SMIF), which also included a program for graduate students (forskarskola). "Civil Society and Enlightened Welfare Politics". The project is financed by the Swedish Research Foundation (VR) and run together with PerOla Oberg. The research will focus on how civil society takes part in the public discourse of the welfare state. The project will provide increased knowledge of the role of civil society in the knowledge-generating process, and its role in the public debate on the welfare state design. In addition to raising awareness of the welfare state development we will also get a better understanding of how civil society interact with other spheres of society. The studies, which will combine qualitative and quantitative analysis, focus on key actors in civil society such as associations and major think-tanks. Together with PerOla Oberg I coordinate the special seminar "Political Economy and Welfare Policies" at the department of Government, Uppsala University. We and two other researchers (Paula Blomqvist and Sven Oskarsson) also constitute the editorial board for our Working Paper Series "The Department of Government in Uppsala Studies in Political Economy and Welfare". Teaching has been focused on Comparative Politics, Swedish Politics, Methods and Research Design. At the moment I have started a course in "Political Economy and the Welfare State" at the D-levellMasterlevel (about 30 students). I have worked with essay examination at the graduate level during the whole period (C- and D-Ievel essays). I am presently supervisor for three PhD students: Gelu Calacean (on Institutional Interplay and European Governance), Moa Martensson (on Swedish EU-Ievel Representatives) and Maria Johansson (on Food and Health policies).
