APS can send individuals to Schuyler Hospital, The Fall Home or Elcor Nursing Facility for respite services in crisis. They also look to family or church members to assist where able and appropriate. If the individual is able to live independently they try to get them into senior housing as quickly as possible. They work closely with First Step Victims Services. Community Bank and Chemung Canal Trust Company have been very good about monitoring for financial exploitation, emotional abuse and verbal abuse of family members.
