9 Master - Study Scholarships for Graduates of ALL Disciplines How long? months, depending on program; start: 1 Oct 2014 Who? Graduates of ALL disciplines! (except arts, architecture, film, music) Requirements: University exam (Bachelor) very good knowledge of English or German (depending on the study program) Admission to German university at the beginning of the scholarship Scholarship: - Rate: 750 euros/month, 300 euros for travel costs, covers tuition fees up to 500 euros per semester 9

10 Master - Scholarships for Artists and Musicians How long? months, start: 1 Oct 2014 Who? Graduates of Art, Design, Film, Architecture, Music, Performing Arts (Drama, Direction, Dance, Choreography, etc.) Requirements: University exam (Bachelor) work samples (portfolio) Scholarship: - Rate: 750 euros/month, 300 euros for travel costs, covers tuition fees up to 500 euros per semester Please apply directly in Bonn until (Architecture) and

11 Research Grants for Young Scientists and Academics How long? 1-10 months, up to 4 years for doctoral candidates Who? Doctoral candidates, young scientists and academics Requirements: Master or Diploma degree Excellent research proposal Invitation by German University teacher Good knowledge of German or English Scholarship: monthly award of 750,- up to 1000,- euros (depending on the degree) plus travel costs Application via online-form plus paper version! 11

Scientists and Academics Requirements Excellent research proposal recent publications Invitation by a German Colleague Good knowledge of German or English Working in higher education or at research institutes Scholarship: monthly award between and euros plus travel costs 12

13 Study trips for groups Study Visits / Study Seminars and Practicals in Germany, headed by a university teacher Who? Students (10-15 persons, who finished the 2 nd semester) How long? 7-12 days (application deadline: / / 01.11) The DAAD usually arranges the program. Wishes and preferences stated in the application form will, as far as possible, be considered. Scholarship: The DAAD - provides a guide in the group language - pays for accommodation expenses (including breakfast) - 9 Euro per person/per day for lunch and dinner 13

14 Tips for a successful application! Plan your application thoroughly! Don t start too late! Ask your professor for a personal reference give your professor enough time! Motivation letter - Be clear about your reasons and goals! PhD - Get in contact with German university as early as possible! Be sure your application is complete! Don t use staples or other metallic items! All Documents have to be in 3 copies! (except applications for language courses) Mind the application deadline (1 th /15 th Nov. 2013)! 14
