1 New Swedish Authorities within the transport sector The Swedish Transport Administration, 2010, (Trafikverket) is responsible forthe planning ofall modes oftraffic: traffic onroads and railways, on the sea and in flight. The Swedish Transport Administration will also build, maintain, and operate all national roads and railways. The Swedish Transport Agency, 2009, (Transportstyrelsen) have the overall responsibility for drawing up regulations and ensuring that authorities, companies, organisations and citizens abide by them. The Transport Analysis, 2010, (Trafikanalys) analyse and evaluate proposedandimplemented measures within thesphere oftransport policy. Transport Analysis are responsible for official statistics in the transport and communication sectors. 15
