Dear Applicant, February 1, 2016 Power Camp will be here soon and we are beginning the application process for Huddle Leaders and Junior Huddle Leaders. This year s Power Camp will be Monday, June 27 th to Friday, July 1 st, at Fredericksburg Christian High School. We are looking for middle school students (13 years and older), high school students and college students to serve as Huddle Leaders / Junior Huddle Leaders for the 8-12 year old campers. All 13 year old applicants will be required to attend FCA Leadership Camp in Scottville (Fluvanna County), VA, the weekend of June 3 rd to 5 th, for their application to be considered. Please prayerfully consider this Call to serve at Power Camp. We are looking for students who demonstrate that they want to be leaders by: 1. Completing your own application: Applications that are filled out by parents will not be considered. 2. Corresponding with FCA: If you are filling out an application and have a question, we want to hear from you. Contact from parents of campers is appropriate, but as leaders, we want you to show initiative and leadership by contacting me directly. Almost every year we have more applicants than positions available, so special consideration will be given to applicants who are: 1. Involved with the FCA ministry throughout the school year, including your campus huddle (if one is available), attended or attending FCA Leadership Camp in Scottsville, VA and attending/volunteering at area-wide FCA events during the school year. 2. Member of a high / middle school or travel sport s team. (Continued)

2 3. Available to attend the training scheduled for Thursday, June 23 All Huddle Leaders and Junior Huddle Leaders are required to attend this training/teambuilding session. More details will be given upon selection. 4. Servants: Being a huddle leader will likely involve having a lot of fun, but the primary reason to apply and the #1 attribute that the FCA staff is looking for is a servant s heart. Campers get to focus on having fun, leaders must focus on serving. Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. Serving at Power Camp is a volunteer position, but there are many benefits to you being there for the week: - Your week of serving, growing, moving out of you comfort zone and fun counts toward your community service hours for school (about 55 hours). - Every leader receives a $50 scholarship to go to FCA Leadership weekend camp, June 3 rd to 5 th Scottsville (Fluvanna County), VA. - Every leader receives a $100 scholarship to attend overnight FCA Sports Camp at the University of Richmond July 4 th 8 th. - Great time of fellowship and building lasting Christian friendships with other leaders your age! - The opportunity to be used by The Holy Spirit to pour into young athletes (they say their favorite part about camp was their huddle leader!) The Bible is clear in teaching on sexual sin including sex outside of marriage and homosexual acts. Neither heterosexual sex outside of marriage nor any homosexual act constitutes an alternative lifestyle acceptable to God. While upholding God s standard of holiness, FCA strongly affirms God s love and redemptive power in the individual who chooses to follow Him. FCA s desire is to encourage individuals to trust in Jesus and turn away from any impure lifestyle.
