2 WARNINGS Handle with care. Irritating to eyes and skin. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. Store away from food and feeds. Flammable, do not store near heat or flames. Do not allow to freeze - store in a cool, dry place (5-15 C). RE-ENTRY INTERVAL: Do not enter treated area until spray deposit has dried unless wearing protective clothing. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions; quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the weed against the remedy concerned as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. PRECAUTIONS Do not inhale spray mist. In case of contact, flush with clean water and wash with soap and water. Do not eat, drink or smoke while mixing, applying or before washing hands and face. Do not allow spray mist or wash water to contaminate other crops, food, feeds, rivers, dams, grazing and other areas not under treatment. Rinse empty container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10 % of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container by perforation and flattening and do not re-use. RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT: For resistance management, BALAN* 180 EC is a Group Code K1 herbicide. Any weed population may contain individuals naturally resistant to BALAN* 180 EC and other Group Code K1 herbicides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds may not be controlled by BALAN* 180 EC or any other Group Code K1 herbicides.

3 To delay herbicide resistance: Avoid exclusive repeated use of herbicides from the same herbicide Group Code. Alternate or tank mix with products from different herbicide Group Codes. Integrate other control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into weed control programmes. For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this product. Other weeds that were not present during the development trials with the product, may possibly also be controlled to a certain degree. The registration holder does not accept any responsibility for unlisted weeds.

TIMING OF APPLICATION BALAN* 180 EC may be applied as much as 2-3 weeks prior to planting, or at planting. Do not apply after planting. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS Ensure that the spray equipment is correctly calibrated prior to treatment. Half-fill the spray tank with clean water. Add the required quantity of BALAN* 180 EC to 5-10 litres clean water to make a suspension. Add the suspension to the spray tank and fill to the required volume. Ensure thorough agitation of the spray mixture before and during application. APPLICATION DIRECTIONS Add the recommended amount of BALAN* 180 EC to the spray tank during the filling operation. Apply in litres of water per hectare using any properly calibrated, low pressure, boomtype herbicide sprayer. INCORPORATION DIRECTIONS BALAN* 180 EC must be incorporated to a depth of 5-10 cm. Set discs to penetrate cm immediately (within 10 minutes) after application to prevent loss of activity. Spraying and incorporation should be done in the same operation if possible. The machinery used should break up large clods and mix BALAN* 180 EC thoroughly with the soil. Thorough incorporation may be achieved with Power-Take-Off driven rotary tillers. Use a double disc, alone or with spike-tooth harrow in tandem, disking the field twice, once in each direction at right angles.

HERBETREDING: Moet nie behandelde gebied betree alvorens die spuitneerslag droog is nie, tensy beskermende oorklere gedra word. Alhoewel hierdie middel omvattend onder 'n groot verskeidenheid toestande getoets is waarborg die registrasiehouer nie dat dit onder alle toestande doeltreffend sal wees nie aangesien die werking en effek daarvan beinvloed kan word deur faktore soos abnormale grond-, klimaats- en bergingtoestande; kwaliteit van verdunningswater, verenigbaarheid met ander stowwe wat nie op die etiket aangedui is nie en die voorkoms van weerstand van die onkruid teen die betrokke middel sowel as die metode, tyd en akkuraatheid van toediening. Verder aanvaar die registrasiehouer nie verantwoordelikheid vir skade aan gewasse, plantegroei, die omgewing of vir nadelige effek op mens of dier of vir 'n gebrek aan prestasie van die betrokke middel as gevolg van die versuim van die gebruiker om etiketaanwysings na te kom of as gevolg van die ontstaan van toestande wat nie kragtens die registrasie voorsien kon word nie. Raadpleeg die verskaffer in die geval van enige onsekerheid. VOORSORGMAATREËLS Moet nie spuitnewel inasem nie. Ingeval van aanraking, spoel af met skoon water en was met seep en water. Moet nie eet, drink of rook terwyl die produk gemeng of toegedien word nie of voordat hande en gesig gewas is nie. Verhoed die besmetting van ander gewasse, voedsel, voer, riviere, damme en weiding asook plekke wat nie behandel moet word nie, deur spuitnewel en waswater. Spoel leë houer driekeer uit met 'n volume water gelykstaande aan 'n minimim van 10 % van die houer. Gooi die spoelwater by die inhoud van die spuittenk voordat die houer vernietig word deur gate in te kap en plat te slaan en moet nie vir 'n ander doel gebruik nie. WEERSTANDSWAARSUWING Vir weerstandsbestuur is BALAN* 180 EC as n Groepkode K1 onkruiddoder geklassifiseer. Enige populasie van n spesifieke onkruid mag individue insluit wat n natuurlike weerstand teen BALAN* 180 EC, of enige ander Groepkode K1 onkruiddoder het. Indien hierdie onkruiddoders herhaaldelik aangewend word, kan die weerstandbiedende individue uiteindelik die onkruidpopulasie oorheers. Hierdie weerstandbiedende onkruide sal moontlik nie deur BALAN* 180 EC of enige ander Groepkode K1 onkruiddoder, beheer word nie.

7 Om weerstand teen onkruiddoders te vertraag: Vermy die eksklusiewe herhaaldelike gebruik van onkruiddoders in dieselfde onkruiddodergroepkode. Wissel af met, of gebruik tenkmengsels van produkte in verskillende onkruiddodergroepkodes. Integreer ander beheermaatreëls (chemies, verbouing, biologies) in onkruidbeheerprogramme. Vir spesifieke inligting oor weerstandsbestuur, kontak die registrasiehouer van hierdie produk. Ander onkruide wat nie tydens die ontwikkelingsproewe met die middel voorgekom het nie, kan onmoontlik ook in meerdere of mindere mate beheer word. Die registrasiehouer aanvaar egter geen aanspreeklikheid ten opsigte van ongelyste onkruide nie.

8 DOSISSE GEWAS GRONDTIPE DOSIS/ha SIGOREI Sanderige, sanderige leemgrond of leemgrond 6 liter 0-25 % klei Slik of kleirige grond % klei 8 liter BALAN* 180 EC word nie aanbeveel vir gronde met 'n hoë organiese material inhoud nie. TOEDIENINGSTYD BALAN* 180 EC kan enigertyd vanaf 2 tot 3 weke voor planttyd of met planttyd toegedien word. Moet nie na planttyd toegedien word nie. MENG INSTRUKSIES Voor bespuiting, maak seker dat die spuittoerusting korrek gekalibreer is. Maak die spuittenk half-vol met skoon water. Voeg die benodige hoeveelheid BALAN* 180 EC by 5-10 liter skoon water en maak 'n oplossing. Voeg die oplossing in die spuittenk en maak die spuittenk met skoon water tot by die gewenste volume vol. Sien toe dat deeglik roering voor en gedurende bespuiting plaasvind. AANWENDINGSAANWYSINGS Voeg die aanbevole hoeveelheid BALAN* 180 EC in die spuittenk gedurende die vulproses. Wend aan in liter water per hektaar met behulp van enige behoorlik gekalibreerde, laedruk, balktipe spuit wat vir onkruiddoders gebruik kan word. INWERKINGSAANWYSINGS BALAN* 180 EC moet onmiddellik (binne 10 minute) na toediening tot 'n diepte van 5-10 cm (stel skotteleg van cm diep) ingewerk word om verlies aan aktiwiteit te voorkom. Indien moontlik moet die bespuiting en inwerking tegelykertyd plaasvind. Die implemente wat gebruik word, moet groot kluite kan opbreek, en BALAN* 180 EC deeglik met die grond vermeng. Deeglike inwerking kan met kragaangedrewe woel-êe gedoen word. Maak gebruik van 'n dubbele skotteleg met of sonder 'n tand-eg agteraan. Bewerk die land reghoekig met die skotteleg eenkeer in elke rigting.

9 Ten einde 'n deeglike vermenging van grond te verkry, moet skottelêe teen 'n voldoende snelheid ( 5-10 km/u) beweeg.
