If you use it with incorrect procedures, or connect incompatible accessories, the guarantee will be invalid. It is possible that the electronic navigation data may not be consistent with real traffic conditions because of road construction development taking place in real life. Please comply with the real conditions. If you check or use the PNA when you are driving you may cause an accident. Updating and upgrading of information on firmware will be put on our website. It s dependant on you whether or not to update or upgrade. The pictures in the manual are just for reference, subject to the real device.

5 Welcome as a user of GPS navigation. The navigator is used mainly for navigation and also has functions for audio and Video playing, (Multimedia MP3 and MP4), photo viewing and E-Book. 7 User s manual Support Bracket 1.2 About the User s Manual In order to get to know your device and enjoy all its functions and features fully, please read the User s Manual carefully first. The information in this User s Manual is only applicable to the Personal Navigation Assistant (PNA). Please refer to the SuperNav User s Guide for detailed information about the navigation software, including maps for Egypt.

15 2.2.1 Power supply There are two methods of supplying power for the GPS built-in battery; connection by the AC/DC connector or connection by the USB connector. The Symbol of [ ] at the top tight of the Display indicates the PNA is using the build-in Li-battery to supply power when it is not connecting with any adaptor. The symbol of [ ] on the electrical setting interface indicates the current battery capacity. The PNA uses the external power supply from AC to DC when it is connected with the adaptor. Note: this PNA uses a built-in, factory installed Lithium battery. In normal conditions (if the back light is not so bright), the fully

16 charged battery can be used for 10 hours, however the actual supply hours can vary because of the different ways of using the navigator. Some functions (audio playing, video playing, too bright back light) will consume more electricity, which will reduce the usage hours. Important: this machine uses a built-in, factory installed Lithium battery. In order to avoid the possibility of overheating or fire, please do not poke, dent, take apart or throw the battery into fire or water. The battery will crack and explode or release dangerous chemical material.

17 2.2.2 Charging battery by AC/ DC Adaptor Please fully charge the GPS by AC/DC adapter before use. 1. Connect the DC Jack of the Adaptor to the Power In port on the right side of the machine. 2. The other end is connected to the electrical socket, to supply AC power and charge the battery. Note: the indication light is red when charging. Please do not pull out the adaptor until the light turns green to show it is well charged. Please charge your PNA in good time when it shows that battery power is low.

18 2.2.3 Charging by car cigarette lighter adaptor 1. Please connect one end of the car lighter adaptor to the Power In port on the right side of the machine. 2. The other end is connected to the car light adaptor socket to supply power and charge the battery. Warning: Please connect the Car Kit adapter after starting the car's engine to prevent the electrical surge from damaging the PNA.

19 2.3 Basic Operation Procedures Turn battery on/off The battery switch [ ] on the right side of the machine is used to control the system power supply Upward switch [ ] indicates power supply on, by battery or adaptor. Downward switch [ ] indicates power is off and the system can not be started up. Note: When the switch is off, it can still charge the machine as it is just cut off the system power supply. Extra Information: If the PNA has not been used for a long time, you can save the power by using the downward switch.

20 2.3.2 Power on/off The power key [ ] can control the power on/off. Power off indicates the system is on Pause / Energy saving mode, the system keeps the last operation status when you power on again. 1. Power on: Please check: The battery is well charged, or the machine is connected with adaptor and the switch is upward [ ]. Press the power key [ ] on the top of machine to power on. Important: When you carry the PNA from one place to another, you need to wait until the machine has adapted to the local environment to avoid the risk of short-circuit caused by changes in humidity and temperature.

21 2. Power off Please press the Power key [ ] on the top of the machine to power off. The system will enter the sleeping mode and the system can keep the last operation state when you power on again. Note: If you want to save the power, you can push the switch downward to cut off the electricity Resetting the system If the system fails to work, please reset the system by the followings steps. 1. Press the touch pen into the reset hole on the right side of the machine.

22 2. Push the switch downwards to cut off the power supply. Then Push it upwards again to reset the system. Extra Information: You need to reset if any of the following have occurred: 1. The shift between pictures is delayed, hung or paused. 2. The touch pen does not function normally, e.g. commands take a long time to be carried out or cannot be activated. 3. The power key cannot work Important: Any unsaved data will be lost if you reset the system when the system has no response. Please save the data from time to time.

23 2.3.4 PNA Car Support Cradle You can fix your PNA on the windscreen by using the supplied Support Cradle. Important: When using the cradle on the windscreen, please position it with care - don t block the driver s view or the rear mirror s view. Never place the PNA on top of the Air Bag, on either the driver s side or the front passenger s side. Keep the PNA clear of the expansion range of the Air Bag in case it is activated in the case of an accident.

24 2.3.5 External antenna (Optional) The External antenna can improve the ability to receive the signal. Connect one end to the External antenna socket [ ] on the right side of the navigator then extend the receiver and attach it in a higher position on the windscreen. Note: The navigation function is affected by the GPS receiving ability, position accuracy and driving speed. We suggest that you use the external antenna when driving alongside the Metro / downtown.

25 2.3.6 Pen for touch screen The touch pen / stick is the communication tool on the GPS Touch Screen panel. Please store the pen in the pen-holder and do not lose it. 1 Single click: Single the screen with the tip of the touch pen on the main menu. 2 Double click: Confirm the command by clicking the screen with the touch stick point twice. 3 Drawing: Click one point and hold, and then draw the touch stick across the screen.

26 Important: Never use an implement with a sharp point, a ball pen or a metal part to do the touch command. It will scratch and damage the LCD panel Adjusting the Volume The system provides you ten scales of volume (from mute to highest). 1. Turn up the volume: turn the volume adjusting wheel to the top and release it, then the wheel will return to the original position. Repeat this to continue increasing the volume. 2. Turn down the volume: Turn the volume adjusting wheel to the bottom and release it, then the wheel will turn to the original position. Every turn achieve a decrease of volume.

27 2.3.8 SD card The attached SD card contains the renowned SuperNav software together with the most detailed map of Egypt with thousands of points of interest. In addition the SD card comes with interesting and varied media files. Please insert the card correctly. Also the system is equipped with a 64 MB Flash memory as internal memory for receiving 20 GPS Signals /Channels.

28 Important: Please do not remove the SD card when the system is navigating. 1. Don t stress or bend the SD/MMC card, avoid dropping and bumping. 2. Avoid high temperature or high humidity when using and storing the card. 3. Keep away the SD card from the sunlight. 4. Please follow the direction/instruction for inserting the SD Card/MMC card. It will damage the SD Card if it is incorrectly inserted Hot key The menu key [ ] on the top of the PNA can be used to shift the present interface to the table list.

29 Note: This key helps you to return to the table list quickly. 2.4 Connection to a computer The machine can be connected to a computer via the MINI USB on its left side. You can copy documents or data between PNA and computer. 1. Please confirm the PNA is powered on; 2. Connect the MINI end [ ] of the USB cable to the USB port on the left side of the PNA and the normal end [ ] to the Host port on the computer. 3. After connection, the computer will recognize and find the new hardware unit automatically. The PNA will stop

30 operating its the current procedure and shift to the online interface. 4. Please pull out the MINI USB cable after the operation is finished. The PNA will return to the prior operation interface. Important: Data security: Please copy the data to the outer storage device every time before you update your system data. The user has the responsibility to keep the backup of the data in case of SD Card reading failure.. Note: The GPS navigator will stop all functions when it is connected with computer. Important: During the process of communication, the following actions will break off the connection with computer and the unfinished data will be lost, so do not;

31 1. Pull out the MINI USB cable; 2. Switch power off 3. Reset the system by using resetting key or electric switch 4. Click the close button on the top right corner. 2.5 Main Menu and Primary Functions. 1. Table list: / Main Menu

33 2.6 Protect and Care for your Personal Navigation Assistant. The PNA is a reliable hardware device and also a personal media-player if you tend and protect it correctly. Please adopt the following methods to tend and protect it so that the machine can be used for a long time. Screen protection: please use the touch pen to operate the main function. Do not press the screen too hard as it will damage the LCD screen. you should use a soft cloth to clean the surface of LCD Panel. Do not spray any cleaner directly onto the screen. Important: Always Power off the PNA before cleaning the screen.

34 Avoid dropping: Dropping or hitting the PNA will damage the precision parts such as the screen. Important: Tampering with the product will invalidate the warranty. Avoid using the navigator in the following conditions: rapidly changed temperature, high temperature (over 60 degrees), low temperature (below 0 degrees), high pressure, dust, static, humidity, and also corrosive liquid. Avoid radio frequency interference; the radio frequency from other electrical devices may affect the screen display and the signal will be swamped by other radio waves. Important: Avoid passing the PNA through the Airport X-Ray machine as it may cause damage.

35 Avoid exposure to direct sunlight: Do not expose this machine to strong light or ultraviolet directly; this can help the machine prolong its useful life. In this chapter we will explain how to use the Personal Navigation Assistant. 3.1 Navigation Functions and Features According to your choice of navigation system, the PNA can make a position by GPS satellite signal receiver and display it on the navigation map. The system can calculate a best route after setting the destination, which can help users to arrive the destination safely and rapidly. The system can make your journey more relaxed and enjoyable

36 in many different ways, such as vision map, vivid animation, voice indication and visual display indication. The specific navigation functions will depend on your choice of navigationsoftware. Please refer to the Navigation Software Instruction. 3.2 Essential knowledge 1. On map information It is likely that the electronic navigation data will differ from the real traffic conditions because of the construction changes in the roads and traffic conditions. Please comply with the highway condition and the actual traffic rules. Regular updating and upgrading of information on the firmware will be made available

37 on our website. You are responsible for installing updates or upgrades on your PNA. 2. Navigation Routing by the PNA is for guidance only and not a substitute for the experience and judgment of the driver. 3. On receiving a signal. Many factors such as high, dense buildings, tunnels, underground parking, under dense trees, various weather conditions, and the shutting down of one or more of the satellite system will affect the ability to receive signal, resulting in inaccurate position.

39 This chapter explains how to use the audio player of the PNA to play your favourite music and let it be your personal MP Audio Player Functions and Features The audio player support WMA9, MP3 and WAV music format, you can set the playing sequence at random. Before using the audio playing, please copy your audio file to any folder. 4.2 Audio Player Interface and Operation 1. 66 8.4 Backlight Setting Backlight setttings include: 1. Adjust backlight brightness; 2. Turn off backlight time interval set at self power supply condition; 3. Turn off backlight time interval set at external power supply condition.

68 Time interval The backlight will turn off and enter the power saving mode when the device is idle. There are 6 items for choice: never, 3 min, 2 min, 1 min, 30 seconds, 10 seconds and repeat. 8.5 Date and Time Setting Date and time include: 1. System time set; 2. System date set; 3. System time zone set.

75 After single clicking calibrate, do the following; using the touch stick, click the central cross cursor. It will move in the following sequence centre, left up, left down, right up and right down till the calibration is successful - then the system will exit to the main menu automatically
