10 18 SAFETY ULTIMATE peace of mind At Honda, we re committed to keeping people safe on the road. We think the best way to avoid collisions is to be one step ahead, which is why we offer our Driver Assistance Safety Pack technologies. They aid the driver by acting as extra sensors, warning and reacting where necessary. The City-Brake Active System, for example, which is standard on all grades, monitors slow moving traffic in front of the car and warns of a forward collision. This allows the driver time to take action, even applying emergency braking to reduce speed as much as possible if no action is taken by the driver. Our Lane Departure Warning* alarm alerts you if your Jazz deviates from a lane without indication and the clever Forward Collision Warning* monitors the area around the car to help you avoid collisions and keeps everyone that bit safer. TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION SYSTEM* LANE DEPARTURE WARNING* Traffic Sign Recognition System identifies traffic signs up to 100m away and relays this information to the driver via the Multi Information Display as you pass them. Two signs can be displayed at any one time. When road lines are detected and the car deviates from your current lane without indicating, Lane Departure Warning alerts you to the fact with audible and visual warnings. CITY-BRAKE ACTIVE SYSTEM 1: While driving around town between 5-20mph, to give you the best chance of avoiding a collision, this system can monitor the distance between you and the car in front. INTELLIGENT SPEED LIMITER* Automatically sets the speed limit that the traffic sign recognition system detects. With the Intelligent Speed Limiter activated the car will drive normally but cannot exceed the prevailing speed limit unless the system is over-ridden by the driver. FORWARD COLLISION WARNING* Should the front camera pick up a car in front, the system warns of a front-on collision, allowing you time to take action. 2: If you continue getting closer to a detected vehicle, the Jazz gives you audible and visual warnings via the Multi Information Display. *Available on EX and SE grades only. 11 20 SAFETY ENGINEERED FOR safety YOUR VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST (VSA) Monitors all four wheels independently and calculates the precise amount of power or braking force needed to regain control if traction is lost. In slippery conditions, it manages engine torque and braking to each wheel, reducing speed to a point that allows safe and consistent travel. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SRS AIRBAGS For maximum protection, the front airbags use a two-stage inflator allowing the timing and force of deployment to vary according to severity of impact. Side curtain airbags protect the driver and passengers in the front and back in the case of a side-on collision, working in conjunction with the 3-point seat belt. HILL START ASSIST Hill Start Assist prevents roll back when starting on an incline. Using a slope sensor, the brake pressure is controlled, keeping the car stationary for 1½ seconds after you release the brake pedal. BRAKE ASSIST Brake Assist helps the vehicle come to a stop sooner during emergency braking. A key focus in the design of the Jazz is the safety of those inside and out. The safety of your passengers, other road users and pedestrians has always been one of our fundamental design requirements. 18 34 OPTIONS ALLOY WHEELS Stardust alloy Nucleus alloy DETACHABLE TOW BAR With this detachable tow bar you don t need to compromise your car s styling if you re planning to tow a trailer. All Honda genuine tow bars are designed for easy handling, complete compatibility and integration with your Honda s electrical and safety systems. You can tow your trailer with a maximum towing capacity of 1,000 kg and a vertical weight of 95 kg. A fixed tow bar is also available.
