By building it yourself, not only are you saving money, but you will have the satisfaction of producing your own working model, and being modular, you can buy each kit separately and build at your own speed. You don t even have to buy a full set of kits, you may want just the chassis and fit your own boiler and body,or a chassis and boiler then build your own body to suit, it s as flexible as you make it. This makes it difficult for us to estimate postage costs for many packages where multiple items are sent together. New for 2016 This year we are adding two new locomotives to the range, Bundaberg an steam loco and Darjeeling NDM-6 an diesel. To make a little room in the range, we are also discontinuing Mountaineer at the end of the year. Orders will be accepted for this untll 31st December Darjeeling NDM-6 Built by Suri and Nayar (SAN) Engineering & Locomotive Co. Bangalore, this loco is currently used on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. The loco is a 2-axle air-braked unit and weighs in at around 17.5 tonnes with hydraulic transmission and is powered by a Kirloskar-Cummins engine with 335 hp continuous output. The NDM-6 is the fourth in our series of battery powered diesel models. This model has been designed and built to be equal in performance to our steam models. It features two powerful geared motors and drivetrain and at almost 3.5 kg is quite a heavyweight, with performance to match. Bundaberg Fowler This is a model of works number 6 built in 1952 by the Bundaberg foundry for the Millaquin Mill in Queensland, Australia. In its later years it became known as 'Speedy' operating on the Ballyhooley steam railway (Mossman) transporting tourists around the Port Douglas area.
