1 2000 SF1 Census Data - Quick Reference Table This reference table lists the most common census variables in SF1 for the 2000 Census. It was created to help users identify specific variables within the WAGDA census geodatabases. The geodatabases contain 39 data tables which list census variables based on field numbers. You can identify where specific variables are by using this list as a guide. For example, if you want to map housing units, scroll through this list and locate the entry for housing units. The table number is 37 and the field number is H Now, open the geodatabase, open table SF10037, and scroll to the right to find field H Once you have located the table and field number for housing units, you can add this table to ArcMap to map housing units at the geographic level of your choice. For the full list of census variables in the databases, please view the Table Matrix Section from the 2000 Census SF1 documentation. A copy of the Table Matrix is available on WAGDA. * Population data (fields beginning with "P") begins on page 1 * Housing data (fields beginning with "H") begins on page 3 * Additional population data available at the census tract level (fields beginning with "PCT") begins on page 4 Table POPULATION TABLES BEGIN HERE TOTAL POPULATION 1 P Total URBAN AND RURAL POPULATION 1 P Total population 1 P Urban: 1 P Inside urbanized areas 1 P Inside urban clusters 1 P Rural 1 P Not defined for this file POPULATION OF ONE RACE 1 P Total poulation 1 P Population of one race: 1 P White alone 1 P Black or African American alone 1 P American Indian and Alaska Native alone 1 P Asian alone 1 P Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone 1 P Some other race alone POPULATION OF TWO OR MORE RACES 1 P Population of two or more races HISPANIC OR LATINO 1 P Total population 1 P Hispanic or Latino 1 P Not Hispanic or Latino: SEX BY AGE 2 P Total population 2 P Male: 2 P Under 5 years 2 P to 9 years 2 P to 14 years 2 P to 17 years 2 P and 19 years 2 P years 3/7/2007 UW Libraries / WAGDA 1
