1 General Information Company: Northwestern Michigan College Salary Grade: 12 Functional Job Title: Employee Wellness Coordinator Effective Date: 10/2/2013 Functional Job Code: CORDEMPWELL Pricing Method: Internal Exemption Status: Exempt Position Summary The position coordinates, plans, organizes and evaluates the employee wellness program, focuses on improving employee health and preventing disease and disability, and assists departments in conducting health-related training and developing and implementing program goals and objectives. Essential Responsibilities (Critical) Plans, develops, coordinates and evaluates a comprehensive employee wellness program aimed at reducing health risks and improving health status and raising awareness of the factors that can affect health and longevity. (Critical) Researches wellness program offerings for compliance with laws and regulations to mitigate legal risks. (Critical) Coordinates activities with internal committees and department teams, and develops partnerships with external agencies and resources. (Critical) Conducts educational health presentations and training programs (Critical) Develops promotion/marketing plans for the wellness program, and coordinates health fairs, health screenings and various health-related workshops. (Critical) Assembles data from a variety of sources for use in assessment and planning of health education and wellness programs. (Critical) Serves as Chairperson of the employee Wellness Committee. (Very Important) Provides design and content input for employee wellness website and writes wellness-related articles for web and other internal communications. (Very Important) Stays abreast of current wellness-related trends and information and serves as a role model. (Very Important) Assists with program budget development and allocations, and monitors monthly expenditures.
