The 2016 BABAT Conference Planning Committee invites you to submit your work for presentation at its Annual Conference to be held at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, October 12, 13 and 14, Submissions of original research, clinical applications of behavioral technology, workshops, and topical discussions are welcome. Submission deadline for symposia, workshops, panels, single papers: May 9, Submission deadline for posters: August 8, All proposals must be submitted on-line. Fast, easy, and accurate! GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL How to submit your proposal ON-LINE at While following this guide, prepare your text beforehand, then copy/paste into the on-line fields. Read through the General Information in this section, then click on the "Go >" button below to get started! NOTE: On-line submission will require that your browser has both JavaScript enabled and popup blockers disabled. Prepare in advance. Create a text file using this document as a template. Begin at Section A and follow through to Section C. Some presentation formats do not require completing all three sections. Just skip to the next section if that is the case. Prepare your text beforehand, then cut/paste into the on-line fields. Submit your proposal on-line before the deadline at Spell very carefully. Please verify that all names, titles, and affiliations are spelled correctly. Whatever you submit online will be used in all conference programs and brochures. Submission Deadlines. Proposals for symposia, panel discussions, and workshops must be received by May 9, Poster submissions must be received by August 8, Submissions will not be accepted after these dates. Any questions? There is an identified chair who ensures that presentations begin and end at the scheduled times. In some cases there may be a discussant. Symposia are allocated 80 minutes. Single Paper Presentations are individual papers 20 minutes long, to be grouped with similar topics. Panel and Roundtable Discussions are open discussions of topics relevant to applied behavior analysis. They may be debate in format, consultative, Q&A, or brief presentations. Panel/Roundtable discussions are allocated 80 minutes. Workshops are instructional sessions at the intermediate or advanced level, suitable for master s level and above. They are allocated 80 minutes or 170 minutes. Posters are posted presentations of completed experimental projects (or exemplary clinical data). They represent replications of established procedures or principles, clinical innovations, or extensions of procedures into new populations and settings. Dates and Location. The conference will be held on October 12, 13 and 14, 2016 at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Conference Registration and Lodging. All costs associated with attendance are the responsibility of the presenters. Conference registration is required of presenters. It is recommended that hotel reservations be made early by calling (877) ASK FOR BABAT BLOCK CODE BAB16C. Continuing Education Credits. All proposals other than posters will be considered for continuing education credit (BACB and APA). All submitting authors must complete Section B Additional Requirements for Continuing Education Credits. 3 PART A: PROPOSAL FOR PRESENTATION PROGRAM AREA: You will be prompted to select a primary and secondary program area: Autism, Clinical/Medical, Developmental Disabilities, Education, Experimental, Human Development and Gerontology, Organizational Behavior Management, Professional and Ethical Issues, Theoretical/ Conceptual/Philosophical Issues, Verbal Behavior, or Other. TITLE: Paste the title of the presentation, not to exceed 15 words. ABSTRACT: Paste your abstract, words, as described below. Abstracts should conform to APA style guidelines, and for data-based presentations must include a summary of data and description of reliability. For a symposium, provide an abstract for the symposium as a whole, and an abstract for each presentation below. Abstracts for posters must include data graph and description of reliability in order to be considered for acceptance. CORRESPONDING CONTACT: You will be prompted to provide identifying and contact information for the primary correspondent for this proposal. You will need their highest degree, any specialized licenses or certificates they hold (a pull down list will guide you), and a valid . Note that all rooms will be equipped with appropriate sound equipment, an overhead projector, an LCD projector, and a screen. BABAT will not supply laptop computers. Any additional A/V requirements other than those listed should be requested here or the statement "No special A/V requirements will appear. STATEMENT OF ASSURANCE: You will be required to agree to the following in order for your submission to be considered By selecting "I Agree" below, the submitting author affirms and represents that the information above, and all attachments hereto, are true and accurate, and if this proposal is accepted agrees to make the presentation at the conference as scheduled by the BABAT Conference Committee. The submitting author understands that all presenting authors must register for the conference, and that failing to deliver an accepted presentation or arrange for it to be presented may result in rejection of future submissions from this author. 4 PART B: ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS Please review the following to determine whether or not your presentation meets criteria for BACB continuing education. You will be prompted to indicate whether or not it does on-line. To qualify as BACB Continuing Education, a presentation must: Cover behavior analysis theory, methodology, or practice. Be designed to further or maintain the skills or knowledge of BCBAs or BCaBAs (i.e., the instruction must be at least post-master's level a target audience of undergraduates or parents are not appropriate for CE). Adhere to the BACB Guidelines for Responsible Conduct during the event (available at bacb.com). Be presented or co-presented by an individual who meets BACB ACE instructor requirements (for multi-presenter events, only the proposed CE instructor must meet the criteria listed below). An individual who does not meet one of the ACE instructor criteria may serve as a co-instructor under the direct, in-person supervision of a fully qualified ACE instructor. All instructors and co-instructors of Type 2 CE events must have completed substantial formal training, independent study, or experiential training in the subject matter on which Type 2 CE instruction is provided. Multi-presenter events (such as conference symposia or paper sessions) may be offered for Type 2 CE if at least one presenter meets the CE instructor criteria specified above, PROVIDED that the qualified CE instructor actively and directly supervises the instruction presented by the co-instructors (e.g., by reviewing all presentation materials and providing feedback to the presenters in advance of the session). This allows type 2 CE to be offered, for example, for symposia in which only the discussant qualifies as a CE instructor but reviews the co-instructors presentations in advance, or for symposia chaired by university faculty who meet the CE instructor criteria, with all instruction presented by that person s own graduate students. All instructors and co-instructors must adhere to the BACB Guidelines for Responsible Conduct during the Type 2 CE event STATEMENT OF FULFILLMENT OF BACB CE CRITERIA: On line you will be prompted as follows: Please select one of the following statements as applicable regarding your submission: This presentation meets the criteria for BACB CE credit as described above This presentation does not meet the criteria for BACB CE credit NAME OF PROPOSED CE INSTRUCTOR: Must be a primary presenter, chair, or discussant for the event and must directly and actively supervise the instruction. You will be prompted to select one Is a board certified behavior analyst in good standing; OR Holds a doctorate and meets either the coursework or college teaching option for fulfilling BCBA eligibility requirements; OR Has completed all requirements for a doctorate except the dissertation, meets the coursework option for BCBA eligibility, and has completed graduate coursework or has published research in the subject matter on which Type 2 CE instruction is provided. 6 THE BERKSHIRE ASSOCIATION FOR BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS AND THERAPY STUDENT PAPER AWARD 2016 To promote high quality research conducted by students of behavior analysis, BABAT will award a $1000 honorarium and a plaque to a student for a paper based on his or her original research. In addition, the student will have the opportunity to present his or her work at the annual BABAT conference in Amherst, MA, October 12-14, SUBMISSION DEADLINE: May 9, 2016 STUDENT RESEARCH AWARD 2016 The B. F. Skinner Foundation, in association with BABAT, sponsors this award for graduate student research, to support and encourage research efforts in behavior analysis among graduate students and promote Skinnerian science. A $500 award and plaque are given for a proposal for a student research project. Winners will be presented with the award at the annual BABAT conference, Amherst, MA, October 12-14, SUBMISSION DEADLINE: June 20, 2016 STUDENT POSTER COMPETITION 2016 The B. F. Skinner Foundation, in association with BABAT, sponsors this poster competition for student research. Submissions are reviewed before the conference, and a set of finalist posters are reviewed at the conference by a panel of esteemed judges.
