Energy Audits Energy efficiency in buildings
Introduction Your energy consumption appears too high and you would like to improve the energy efficiency of your building. An energy audit is the necessary preliminary step before undertaking any energy performance improvement actions on behalf of your building. Only a good knowledge of your energy situation will allow you to implement an effective consumption reduction policy. Enovos offers a range of audits adapted to your goals and to the specificities of your building. Standard energy audit Detailed energy audit Bilan Carbone In order to complete the energy balance of a building the following elements are to be taken into account. Ventilation Auxiliaries Heating Workstations/ Servers Building Sanitation hot water Lighting Air Conditioning/cooling In Luxembourg, Enovos offers energy audits according to the Règlement Grand-ducal of August regarding the energy perfor- mance of functional buildings, allowing you to acquire the energy performance certificate.
Standard energy audit The standard energy audit aims at a quick valuation of the energy saving potential and at a formulation of advice and first recommendations of simple measures to be undertaken. This audit is a technical review taking into account all available building data. Project steps Gathering of all available data Visit of the building and interviews with the persons in charge of operations Exploitation of data Results and action plan Expected results General Energy synthesis report of the building A graphic outline and a short description of its technical features, An energy balance based on a reference year, A summary balance of the principal consumption items, i.e. heating, cooling, electricity. Identification of all energy consumation units Identification of the building energy saving potential Analysis of technical features, examination of the building envelope, An analysis of the building s operating conditions, The identification of improvement leads. Recommendations for the different actions leading to a decrease of energy consumption Establishment of a hierarchy of solutions to reduce the energy consumption, Investment recommendations, Eventual additional technical studies. Duration As a rule, the duration of service should be situated between 3 and 6 days, depending on the floor size and the number of specificities of the technical features.
Detailed energy audit This energy audit makes it possible, starting from a detailed analysis of building figures, to recommend energy economy programs. The audit should allow the owner to decide upon the most appropriate investment program in order to improve the energy performance of his property. Project steps Gathering of all available data First visit in the building and talks with the persons in charge of operations Data analysis Second visit with metering campaign Exploitation of data Results and detailed action plan Expected results Energy summary balance of the whole building A description of the building, its utilization and its operating conditions, A description of the equipment, its characteristics, size and operating mode, An energy balance based on a reference year. Detailed analysis of the main consumption items with a metering campaign Presentation of the outcome of the measurements on the envelope and the technical facilities, The running costs of the audited facilities, A comparison between the metering and the theoretical consumption calculations. Energy performance improvement campaigns Techno-economic presentation of improvement programs, The action plan for the implementation of the selected energy rehabilitation program, The energy consumption and savings monitoring program following the implementation of the action plan. Duration The duration of service depends on the size of the building, the specificities of its equipment and the required metering campaign. (As a rule 7 to 15 days would be appropriate for a majority of buildings.)
The Bilan Carbone Starting today, reduce your dependency on fossil energies The greenhouse effect is a reality and its impacts on climate change require immediate action from all. Your gas emissions with greenhouse effect are a reflection of your dependency on fossil energies. Food Suppliers Home to working place Infrastructures Electricity Office supplies Visitors Shipping Incoming supplies Energy INTERNAL INTERMEDIARY GLOBAL Building Missions Subcontractors Use of products Waste The Bilan Carbone aims an evaluation of your greenhouse gas emissions generated by both direct and indirect activities of your business and targets the implementation of an internal consumption reduction strategy. Project steps Greenhouse effect sensitiza tion Definition of the project perimeter Data gathering Exploitation of results Development of a greenhouse gas emission reduction action plan After The Bilan Carbone evaluation the following information will be available: the global balance of your emissions and the extraction results pointing to a strategic reduction strategy the action plan in order to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions filled-in spreadsheet files allowing you to conform to carbon accounting standards and to monitor annual progress Sensitization tools for the implementation of internal and external communication Carbon compensation The Bilan Carbone evaluation gives primacy to your commitment to the reduction of your own emissions. However, it is possible to suggest methods to offset your unavoidable emissions. Enovos suggests to compensate this component through MyClimate Luxembourg. Duration Normally the duration of this package should be situated between 6 and 15 days, depending on the size of the facility and any activity peculiarities. Bilan Carbone is a greenhouse gas emission assessment tool. Bilan Carbone compatible with ISO norm and the GH Protocol Initiative.
