1 Information Security & Intelligence Why Choose Information Security & Intelligence? The ISI program is certified by NSA's Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation Program as a National Center of Academic Excellence. The ISI program is also the first university program in the nation to be designated a Center for Digital Forensic Academic Excellence by the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) and Air Force Office of Special Investigations. As the only program of its kind in the country, Ferris State University s Information Security & Intelligence (ISI) program is at the forefront in its response to the need for skilled workers in Information Security/Data Analysis/Digital Forensics. Developed with input from industry, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Pentagon, and investigative agencies, this program provides hands-on utilization of state of the art technology including emphasis on information security, visual analysis, data mining, and digital forensics. It's uniquely positioned to prepare students to address the global cyber security issues facing organizations and society. Qualified faculty bring to students the combination of real world experience, academic preparation, specialized training, and certifications. Our computer forensics coursework is accepted as meeting the education requirement to sit for computer forensics examinations. Our mobile application development and penetration testing concentrations are at the forefront of information security issues. This is indeed a degree that enables its graduates to stand out in the workplace with a set of skills, knowledge, and abilities that few others will match. Career Opportunities The Information Security & Intelligence degree prepares you for a variety of career possibilities in fields that allow you to see your contribution in action. Computer Forensics, Information Security, Intelligence/Big Data, Incident Response, and Secure Mobile Application Development are a few of the possibilities. Opportunities exist in the government, security, intelligence, health care, insurance, finance, and education fields. Admission Requirements New students: 3.0 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and an ACT composite score of 22.
