3 Benefits of Program Participation and Becoming a Meaningful User Achieve measurable improvements in patient health care delivery and performance to promote better patient outcomes through the use of CEHRT: Diagnostics and patient safety Practice efficiencies and cost savings, including documentation and coding Care coordination, including electronic exchange of clinical information with other designated providers Patient participation/self-management Additional Benefits of MEIP Participation Up to $63,750 for full participation in the 6 year program. This includes a payment in the first year of $21,250. Pediatricians with lower Medicaid patient volume can receive a reduced payment rate. New participants who successfully demonstrate MU for CY 2016 and satisfy all other program requirements will avoid the Medicare payment reduction. 3

5 EP Registration, Eligibility & Attestation Verify if you fall under an eligible provider type Verify your EHR technology is certified Register at CMS registration and attestation site Access MEIP portal Calculate Medicaid patient volume Upload supporting documentation Key Attestation Periods PY 2016 o EPs attesting to their first year report a 90-day Medicaid patient volume period and a 90-day MU period PY 2017 o This is the final year to attest to stage 2 PY 2018 and Beyond o Participating providers are required to attest to stage 3 5

6 Does MACRA affect MEIP?
