3 Introduction Part of our values has always been to conduct business in a responsible and caring way. For Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, sustainability is about carrying out its business in line with our company s values of quality, reliability and care, and in a responsible, resourceful and lasting way. This company-wide sustainability programme was launched to establish a common and global approach to sustainability, addressing three focus areas: environmental, social and employee sustainability.this document provides the foundation and framework for Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut s Sustainability Management System, which purpose is to: - Provide a baseline for Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut s environmental footprint and practices related to sustainability; - Monitor the performance metrics related to the three areas of sustainability, using defined key performance indicators; and Identify strategies, as well as methods for implementing the system. The scope of the Sustainability Management System The Sustainability Management System involves all of Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut s operations and departments to achieve a cohesive focus on environmental, social and employee sustainability. The purpose of this system is to ensure that we encourage practices and implement methods to reduce and optimise our consumption, through the use of basic measures, such as energy efficient lighting, water consumption reduction and better management of waste and chemical use. Our primary motivators lie on our values and core behaviours by: - Providing high-quality service in everything we do; - Caring for the society, driven by social responsibility; - Committing to environmental and economic sustainability development; and - Adding our personal touch to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

In this case, the director is responsible for documenting and recording all aspects related to the well-being of employees, in order to ensure the sustainability initiatives of Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut, as well as handling the internal communication of all aspects related to sustainability; also, ensure that all trainings related to the sustainability programme are taking place and recorded properly Manage areas that are related to food and beverages; identify areas of opportunity where practices should be revised within the department in order to ensure preserving the environment and minimising waste; control the stewarding department s cleaning practices, making sure that chemicals used are environment-friendly and waste management is properly handled Manage areas that are related to the Engineering department; identify areas of opportunity where practices should be revised in order to ensure preserving the environment and minimising waste, and reducing energy consumption Manage the social part of the sustainability programme; identify areas where an impact can be made on the socio-cultural front; control the external communication of all activities related to sustainability Manage communication activities related to the sustainability programme, ensuring that relevant information is communicated internally and externally in a timely manner Ensure feasibility of actions to be taken in regards to sustainability, where necessary; control all issues related to purchasing, making sure that purchasing decisions are considerate of the environment Manage communication with suppliers, inspection and other activities necessary for the proper implementation and control necessary for the sustainability programme related to purchasing activities Provide support for the Executive Housekeeper, F&B manager, Leisure manager, executive chef and FOM in terms of sustainability initiatives and ideas. Furthermore ensure communication of customer feedback when related to the Sustainability program. Run the programme and coordinate with different departments; record and document actions, and strive towards continuous improvement; control the housekeeping department s cleaning practices, making sure
