1 Anna Lisa Larsdotter (Modig) 1843 and Asta Fogelberg 1907 By Hans Forsslund descendant of Carl Modig My mother Gunvor Margareta (Modig) Forsslund together with Gösta Forsslund, my father, went on a trip to USA in The trip was aimed to visit Gösta s USA relatives. Gösta had written a genealogy book abut his relatives. When they passed Rockford mother remembered that she had a relative there, so they made a visit to Asta Fogelberg and her husband Eric. Address: 1533, 12th Avenue, Rockford. Illinois, z USA. Gunne was told that Asta s father s mother Anna Lisa - was a sister of Anders Blomberg and Carl Modig. Then Anna Lisa and her husband Eric must have had at least one son (father to Asta), maybe born in USA. My and Gunne s question is who was Asta s father and who went to America? It was said that Anna Lisa emigrated in 1858 (this is wrong which is proven below) Anna Lisa is daughter of Lars Erlandsson Modig and Christina Svensdotter (Blomquist) They had 7 children. 1. Anders Johan (Blomberg) Sven August (Blomquist) Anna Lisa (Lindelöf) Carl Modig Alfred (Blomberg) Matida (Nordquist) Gustafva (Ellzén) 1852 Here is my Research: In the work I have used an internet connection to the Swedish National Archives were almost all Swedish Church Records are microfilmed and reachable in a picture format so you can sit at home and read those books. They are not digitalized in the way that the text is searchable. You have to read the documents and try to understand the handwritten text and spelling in old Swedish language. Daretorp is situated near and south east of Tidaholm.

2 From the proclamation and wedding book at the parish of Daretotp: Anna Lisa married 18 September 1866 in the parish of Hedvig Eleonora in Stockholm with Anders Magnus Lindelöf. Booth living in Stockholm in the parish of Hedvig Eleonora at the address Roslagstorg 22. There is also a note that says that Anders recognized as his legitimate daughter Edla Theresia, born 30 July, From the wedding book at the parish of Hedvig Eleonora in Stockholm: Carpenter Anders Magnus Lindelöf born in Hämbs parish Skaraborg October and maiden Anna Lisa Larsdotter born in parish Daretorp June The wedding took place in Daretorp. They are supposed to have emigrated to USA 1858 but that is wrong, as you will se further on. Anna Lisa died in Sweden Tidaholm 1920 Their grandchild is Asta Fogelberg. (Fågel=Bird Berg= mountain)

3 This is about how their daughter was registered before their marriage: Born and Christening book 1866 parish of Hedvig Eleonora page 418 Edla Theresia was registered as having okända=unknown parents. Although she had a home address Roslagstorg N:o 22 Now we want to follow the lives of the small family Lindelöf. It was difficult in the Stockholm books as there are so many people. Luckily I found a searchable Swedish Census from 1880: Name: Anders Magnus Lindelöf Home parish: Agnetorp Home place: Tändsticksfabriken Vulcan (Match factory ) Contract: Kåkinds County: Skaraborg Born year: 1841 Born parish: Hömb, Skaraborgs län Profession: Snickare (Carpenter) About the household persons: Anders Magnus Lindelöf, f i Hömb Skaraborgs län, Snickare Anna Lisa Larsdotter, f i Daretorp Skaraborgs län Edla Theresia, f i Daretorp Skaraborgs län Axel Hjalmar, f i Agnetorp Skaraborgs län Frits Oskar, f i Agnetorp Skaraborgs län Tekla Cecilia, f i Agnetorp Skaraborgs län With this information it was just to dig into the Agnetorps church archives. Agnetorp is near Tidaholm and 5 km north of Daretorp.

4 In Husförhörslängder Agnetorps ( ) Here we find Anders and family at Tändsticksfabriken Vulkan (page100) Two children died during that period: Axel Hjalmar ( /12) /3, 8 years old Tekla Cecilia ( /11) /3, 3 years old Two children born during that period: Carl Robert 13/ Ernst Julius 12/ In Husförhörslängder ( ) Tändsticksfabriken Vulkan (page215) They moved 1891 to Hägnevägen page(154) It looks as they bought a house with address Hägnevägen 5. Here we find that Edla Teresia is classified as an idiot by the clergyman. Fritz Oskar (1877 4/3) died /5, 17 years old

5 I could not find any more information about the family till I got a suspicion that there were changes in the parish borders. After 1885 Häringevägen was included in Tidaholm parish. I could continue in the enlarged Tidaholm parish. In the Husförhörslängd Tidaholm I found the family again. Father Lindelöf must have died because Anna Lisa Larsdotter is named Änka=Widow. Anna Lisa is also the owner of the house. Edla Teresia ( /6) died 6/8 1897, 31 years old. Anna Lisa now only had the two boys left out of six children. In the Husförhörslängd Tidaholm The remaining two boys have now moved out. Karl Robert emigrated to America December Ernst Julius did the same March In the database Emigrant Popular, Name: Ernst Lindelöf Born year: about 1885 Origin: Tidaholm Västra Götaland Län, Sverige Destination: Ogema Register date: 14 mar 1902 Port: Göteborg Ernst went to Ogema!!!!! This means that we have good chance to get more information by asking people in Ogema.

But how is that possible when Ernst went to America I then tried the Swedish emigration internet page Emiweb In EMIWEB ( Here we find that Ernst left Tidaholm twice for America 1902 and Asta is likely to have been borne before a few years1902 so I went to the records of Tidaholm In Elllis Island passenger lists I found that he arrived with MS Stockholm Apr in the manifest he declares that he has been in US in Rockford ill

Anna s: Asta Violia Father Ernst Julius Lindelöv fol 760. When we go to the page from above we find that they are living at Hägernevägnen 13 Tidaholm.
