With so much that she does for her family and community she always finds room to be involved and make a difference. Vicki is the executive director for the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce. She began her journey with the chamber in February 2007, after she moved back to the Lexington area. Originally from Henderson County, she fit right back in place and jumped deep into community service. She and her spouse of twenty years, Jason, a local business owner, have two children, a thirteen-year-old son, Will, and a nineyear-old daughter, Ella. While Vicki s family keeps her busy, she still finds time for her community. A graduate of Union University, Vicki has an extensive background in public relations and marketing. Before returning to her home county, she served as Director of Communications for Second Presbyterian Church, Memphis. She is also, past-president of the Lexington Rotary Club and currently serves on the local and district scholarship committees. Vicki also serves on numerous boards such as the Henderson County Joint Economic and Community Development Board, Tennessee Technology Center Advisory Board, Henderson County Imagination Library, Tourism Association of Southwest Tennessee, Woodland Homes Board of Directors, and Looking Good Lexington, a local beautification organization. She has also served as Relay for Life Chairperson for Henderson County. Vicki has a true passion for the chamber. She is currently the President of the West Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives and Board Member At-large for the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives. The Chamber s main focus today is to stimulate growth for the county and make the business environment enticing to new businesses. She is on the Advisory Council for Jackson Regional Partnership, a collaboration between nine adjoining communities to promote awareness of the Mega Site development, located in Haywood County. The thing that keeps it exciting for me, states Vicki, is that no two days are ever the same. You never know from one day to the next what opportunities are around the corner. The chamber s main goal is to help local businesses with their business, helping to make them more successful. One of Vicki s favorite projects are the Festival of Lakes, a 4th of July celebration held at Beech Lake. This festival had been a big part of Henderson County but had faded away for several years. Along with several other volunteers, Vicki has helped revive it as one of the most exciting events for the community. One thing I ve learned is that everything leads itself to the next thing, summarizes Vicki. Everything I do makes me better prepared for what comes next. APRIL/MAY April/May
