MODULE 2: Linear Equations: solutions to simultaneous linear and Quadratic equation, Solution to Cubic Equations. Matrices and Determinants: Definition of a matrix, Types of matrices; Algebra of matrices; Properties of determinants; Calculation of determinants ( up to Third order), Adjoint, elementary row or column operations; Finding inverse through adjoint, row and column transformation. Solution of a system of linear equation by matrix inversio, and Cramers rule, MODULE 3: Permutations Definition, Factorial notation; Theorems on permutation, permutations with repetitions; Restricted permutations. Combinations: Definition; Theorems on combination; Basic identities; Restricted Combinations. Binomial Theorem: Statement of the theorem for positive integral index, General term, Middle term, Equidistant terms, Simple properties of binomial coefficient. MODULE 4: Transportation Problem. Formulation, solution, unbalanced Transportation problem. Finding basic feasible solutions Northwest corner rule, least cost method and Vogel s approximation method. Optimality test: MODI method. They are expected to go through partnership deed and prepare a simple partnership deed.the students are expected to know preparation of memorandum of association, articles of association and prospectus.
