COURSE DESCRIPTION ENGLISH COURSE DESCRIPTION ARABIC COURSE DESCRIPTION This course introduces students to both the practice of web design and the basic principles of web creation and development. The practical component of the course covers not only web design but also current graphics and software tools. Students may gain a foundational knowledge of website creation and will be able to apply it to the planning, designing and development of their own portfolio website. They will also be familiar with different aspects of software applications, web development and free open-access source. 3. COURSE AIM This course emphasizes in two important elements: to learn how to effectively utilize different free software, digital media tools in designing web, and to develop the skill & knowledge of Web page design by understanding of the core concepts that underpin modern web design. 4. COURSE OBJECTIVES At the completion of this course students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of utilize different free software, digital media tools in designing webpage and: Define the principle of Web page design Define the basics in web design Introduce basics concept of HTML and CSS. Learn how to design and develop a Web page using HTML and CSS. Learn how to link pages so that they create a Web site. Develop the concept of web publishing 5. COURSE RULES Attendance Attendance at class is mandatory. Course Instructors should keep attendance records. An "absentee warning notice" will be issued if a student is absent for: More than 10% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours. More than 5% in courses with 75 or more total contact hours. An "absentee withdrawal notice" will be issued and the student will be deemed to have withdrawn from the course with an 'FW' grade if a student is absent for: More than 20% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours. More than 15% in courses with 75 to 150 total contact hours. More than 10% of total contact hours for courses with more than 150 total contact hours. 10.
