1 National NHS Staff Survey 2011 Action Plan & Actions to date
2 Health Warning 13% of workforce (842) receive the survey directly from Capita. 52% (438) of those sampled returned their questionnaires. These survey results are based on 7% of the workforce. Whilst 842 is a representative sample, the accuracy of the response is affected by only 52% of that group responding. The response rate across acute NHS trusts was also 52%. In % of BSUH staff who were sent the survey returned it.
3 Survey Structure The survey is structured around the four pledges to staff in the NHS constitution published in 2009, plus two additional themes: Staff Pledge 1: NHS staff have clear roles and responsibilities and rewarding jobs that make a difference to patients, their families and carers and communities. Staff Pledge 2: NHS staff have personal development, access to appropriate training for their jobs and line management support to succeed. Staff Pledge 3: NHS staff are supported to maintain their health, well-being and safety. Staff Pledge 4: NHS staff are engaged in decisions that affect them and the services they provide Additional theme - Staff Satisfaction Additional Theme - Equality and Diversity
