1 On-Site Population Health Solutions Global Wellness is an On-Site Wellness and Health Care services provider. Our unique services analyze, correct and prevent the most costly components that create health related productivity loss, direct and indirect medical costs.
2 Introduction Musculoskeletal disorders Global Wellness is an organization which has been providing Wellness and Health Care services since We combine our experience and knowledge to adapt to various industries and business functions. Our extensive research on Musculoskeletal disorders associated with poor posture and productivity losses of the most successful companies in the world is why Global Wellness is able to collaborate with customers to help them become highperformance organizations, both internally and externally. Working On-Site, we help companies analyze, correct and prevent the most costly components that cause health related productivity loss - empowering their employees with greater productivity, job satisfaction, lower absenteeism and presenteeism. Our unique services target the physical conditions as well as the mental, and very importantly the culture of the population, by inspiring a Wellness Lifestyle and personal accountability. Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) include over 200 conditions causing pain and functional impairment to people living with them. They include widely known conditions such as arthritis and back pain, injuries caused by trauma, such as fractures, and other conditions that are the result of genetic or developmental abnormalities. MSDs affect: Muscles Ligaments Nerves Joints Tendons Vessels OF DISABILITIES WORLDWIDE ARE DUE TO MSDs THE BIGGEST SINGLE CAUSE OF DISABILITY IS BACK PAIN THESE CONDITIONS ACCOUNT FOR HALF OF ALL ABSENCES FROM WORK AND FOR 60% OF PERMANENT WORK INCAPACITY* We install and manage On-Site Clinics to detect, correct and prevent the most costly Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). * from Fit For Work Europe
3 The challenge The solution Absenteeism Presenteeism Cost Avoidance How According to research by Mercer, Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) were identified as the cause of 78% of absences. Musculoskeletal (MSD s) Stress/Mental Health 52% Cancer 20% Here is how musculoskeletal disorder affect your company: 2.32 musculoskeletal conditions per employee 7.40 absent days per employee, per year, resulting from musculoskeletal conditions alone 8/10 people will miss work in the next 2 months due to musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace per employee, per year Studies show that rarely are your employees working at 100% productivity rates. This is due to symptoms, medical conditions, or even side effects from treatments and/or medication, inevitably resulting in significant indirect medical costs: than absenteeism yet rarely 4Xgreater measured Unlike absenteeism, presenteeism isn't always apparent. You know when someone doesn't show up for work, but you often can't tell when - or how much - illness or a medical condition hinders someone's performance Harvard Business Review, Oct Bank One (JPMorgan Chase & Co. since 2004) concluded this a few years ago, when the company did a breakdown of its medical costs: MEDICAL & PHARMA 24% ($116.2M) Direct Medical Costs Indirect Medical Costs Following our philosophy that Wellness is a Lifestyle, our one-of-a-kind pioneer method delivers unprecedented medical Cost Avoidance. We help companies analyze, correct and prevent all components that cause health related productivity loss - empowering their employees with greater productivity, job satisfaction, lower absenteeism and presenteeism. It is a proven phenomenon that 20% of employees are responsible for 80% of the direct and indirect medical costs and lost productivity. Our objective is to detect and convert the high cost members to a low cost, and more importantly prevent the low cost members from transitioning into higher costs. Measure & Evaluate Outcomes (ROI) Treatment for Correction & Prevention Identify & Collect Health Specialist PATIENT The nervous system runs throughout our body composed of nerves that are transmitting electrical and chemical impulses that promote the functioning of our body. Without interruptions or external interferences the body has the ability to function in a nearly perfect state, which translates into health and wellbeing. If any interference occurs, the nervous system cannot send the proper signal or information. Thus, any interference in the nervous system caused by poor posture when sitting, standing or lifting objects may adversely affect how it relates to the organs and the various body functions resulting in most medical conditions and symptoms responsible for absenteeism and presenteeism. Validate Integrate We have been saving companies millions per year in direct and indirect medical costs since "For every dollar invested we saved 3 dollars" Sam Gilliland Chairman & CEO - Sabre Holdings Global Wellness's unique experience in Health and Well-Being services allows us to help organizations achieve high performance and sustainability of their employees by economizing and revaluing their teams in a competitive market and asserting increased value for customers and shareholders. The deep knowledge in adapting to various industries and business functions, extensive research on musculoskeletal disorders, Posture, Wellness and Productivity with international companies, allows Global Wellness to identify and remove the major causes of absenteeism and presenteeism of employees. Productivity increases and the capacity for concentration improves dramatically Director of HR - Accenture Portugal PRESENTEEISM 63% ($311.8M) Absenteeism 6% ($27M) Short Term Disability 6% ($27M) Long Term Disability 1% ($6M) Establish goals, Design and Conduct Worksite Interventions Use to Classify Risks
