This cohort- based program is taught by DU faculty and clinical professionals from local school districts in a blended learning format: interactive online study, weekend workshops, and varied field experiences. 2 APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS All items listed below must be completed and included as part of your application. The Admissions Committee will not review incomplete applications. All items listed in BOLD are to be uploaded to the online application by the applicant unless otherwise noted. Please refer to the detailed directions in this packet for submitting this information. Online Application for Graduate Admission One (1) Official Transcript from each college/university where at least 1 credit has been earned, mailed directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions. 2 References (uploaded by recommenders) Essay Current Vita/Resume $65 Application Fee The application fee may be paid with a credit card only at time of submission. You cannot pay the fee online once you have submitted your application. The application fee may also be paid on a bank draft or personal check drawn on a U.S. bank.* *You must have graduated with a Bachelor s degree from an accredited university prior to beginning the program. *McNair Scholars may request the application fee to be waived by submitting proof of status as a McNair Scholar to: Office of Graduate Admissions Mary Reed Building, Room S. 3 ONLINE APPLICATION The University of Denver (DU) Graduate Studies Application is submitted electronically. The online application is available at: NOTE: The program- specific instructions listed in this packet supersede the general instructions available on the DU admissions web page. Please use the following information for the online DU application: PROGRAM INFORMATION l Year: 2016 l Term: Summer Quarter l College: Morgridge College of Education l Major: Educational Leadership and Policy Studies l Degree: Master of Arts (if you intend to complete both the Certificate and Master s Degree) Concentration: Principal Licensure Location: Aurora or Certificate (if you are only interested in the Certificate for principal licensure) *If you have previously attended DU, please make sure to note this when filling out your online application so that the Office of Graduate Admissions knows to request your transcripts from the Registrar. PERSONAL BACKGROUND Please complete all required areas. International Students: All international applicants must concurrently apply through the DU Office of International Student Admissions. Please note this may incur additional fees. Applicants should call or intladm@du.edu for more information and further assistance in this process. International applicants, or applicants who do not hold a degree from an institution where English was the primary language of instruction, must take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam in addition to the GRE or MAT. ACTIVITIES This area is NOT required to be completed. REFERENCES Each applicant will be asked to provide the names and addresses of two (2) recommenders upon submitting their online application*. One (1) letter should be written by a direct Supervisor, Principal, or Superintendent. Both letters should speak to the applicant s leadership skills in a P- 20 setting. *Please note: An requesting a letter of recommendation will not be sent to the recommenders until the applicant clicks submit on their online application. Your recommenders will be required to submit their recommendations online. REQUIRED SUPPLEMENTAL DOCUMENTS Please answer the questions provided. SIGNATURE Please electronically sign your name. In a maximum of two pages, please respond to this question: Why do you desire to be an educational leader and change agent in schools and how will your leadership make a difference? The personal essay will be evaluated process using the following criteria: Ability to clearly articulate your values and beliefs about leadership Ability to clearly articulate the skills that will allow you to lead and positively impact student achievement.
