1 These application directions must be used for application to the following program: Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Master of Arts/Certificate: Ritchie Program for School Leaders- Adams The Ritchie Program for School Leaders is a collaborative principal preparation program between the Morgridge College of Education (MCE) at the University of Denver and Adams County School Districts. This one year, 32-quarter credit hour, accredited principal certification program prepares cohorts of highly qualified individuals to earn their CO Principal License and become effective school leaders. 2 APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS All items listed below must be completed and included as part of your application. The Admissions Committee will not review incomplete applications. All items listed in BOLD are to be uploaded to the online application by the applicant unless otherwise noted. Please refer to the detailed directions in this packet for submitting this information. Online Application for Graduate Admission One (1) Official Transcript from each college/university where at least 1 credit has been earned, mailed directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions. 2 Academic References (uploaded by recommenders) Essay Current Vita/Resume $65 Application Fee The application fee may be paid with a credit card only at time of submission. You cannot pay the fee online once you have submitted your application. Please use the following information for the online DU application: PROGRAM INFORMATION Year: 2016 Term: Summer Quarter College: Morgridge College of Education Major: Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Degree: Master of Arts (if you intend to complete both the Certificate and Master s Degree) Concentration: Principal Licensure Location: Ritchie Adams or Certificate (if you are only interested in the Certificate for principal licensure) *If you have previously attended DU, please make sure to note this when filling out your online application so that the Office of Graduate Admissions knows to request your transcripts from the Registrar. PERSONAL BACKGROUND Please complete all required areas. International Students: All international applicants must concurrently apply through the DU Office of International Student Admissions. Please note this may incur additional fees. Applicants should call or intladm@du.edu for more information and further assistance in this process. International applicants, or applicants who do not hold a degree from an institution where English was the primary language of instruction, must take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam in addition to the GRE or MAT. Both letters should speak to the applicant s leadership skills in a P-20 setting. ESSAY Each applicant must submit a statement of professional goals. Please upload this document online under Supplemental Documents. In a maximum of two pages, please respond to this question: Why do you desire to be an educational leader and change agent in schools and how will your leadership make a difference? The personal essay will be evaluated process using the following criteria: Ability to clearly articulate your values and beliefs about leadership Ability to clearly articulate the skills that will allow you to lead and positively impact student achievement. CURRENT RESUME/ VITA Each applicant must upload a current resume/vita. This document should be uploaded with the online application under Supplemental Documents.
