1 ROBERT C. BOEHNER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA administered by Purpose: To honor the memory of Mr. Robert C. Boehner, Architect and founding Chairman of the Southwest Missouri Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute, by continuing his commitment to education in the construction industry, and introducing future construction industry members to the Construction Specifications Institute. Amount: The scholarship is dependent upon amount available to spend (ATS). Two $1, scholarships with 12-month CSI Institute Memberships will be awarded for the academic year. Eligibility: 1. Must have graduated from high school in, or permanently reside in, the SWMO area within the following counties: Barton, Jasper, Newton, McDonald, Cedar, Dade, Lawrence, Barry, Polk, Greene, Christian, Stone, Taney, Dallas, Webster, Douglas, Ozark, Laclede, Wright, Texas, and Howell. Additional counties may be considered: Vernon, St. Clair, Hickory, Camden, Pulaski, Phelps, Dent, Shannon, Reynolds, Carter, Oregon, and Ripley 2. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited skilled trades/technical school, or 2 or 4-yr degree program - and be entering into the final year of that degree / certificate program 3. Must be enrolled in certificate/degree-seeking program in: Construction Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, Engineering, Skilled Trades program, or other design/construction related field 4. Must have cumulative 2.5 GPA; submit transcript or letter in good standing 5. Essay (300-wd max) - addressing your career choice of a construction-related field and your commitment to same 6. Work History/Internships; Community/Volunteer Service 7. One Letter of Recommendation Selection Committee: The Selection Committee will be composed of no fewer than 5 members of the SW MO Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute; with one seat reserved for a direct descendant of the Boehner Family. The Selection Committee will be responsible for providing CFO s scholarship coordinator with the name of the recipient and application. If the Committee is not maintaining a file on all applications, all applications will be sent to CFO. Children of the Selection Committee are not eligible for the scholarship unless that committee member resigns from the committee. Criteria may be amended upon the recommendation of the selection committee with the approval of the Donor and the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

2 Selection Calendar and Process: Scholarship applications will be available from the counselor s office and should be returned to that office. The CFO deadline for receiving the selected recipient(s) name/copy of Apps to CFO is printed on the App and posted on website. Notification of Recipient: The recipient will receive an award letter from CFO including instructions to go to the CFO website ( and activate their scholarship for payment. Distribution of Funds: When required documentation is received, payment will be made to the recipient s college account. If the recipient withdraws from school, the unused funds will be returned to CFO for deposit in the scholarship fund.
