The aim o our reearh i o ill in hi gap by preening a modeling approah ha repreen he undamenal o he S&OP proe o quaniaively evaluae he impa o S&OP program beore he implemenaion. In hi arile, we ir explore wo main dimenion o S&OP: (i) he horizonal ro unional inegraion o ale, produion, diribuion and prouremen; and (ii) he verial oordinaion beween he aial and operaional planning deiion. Then, we propoe an S&OP ramework ha inegrae he variou planning uni in a oordinaed and uniied ahion. Following he ramework, an opimizaion baed S&OP model a well a a e o radiional non-oordinaed model are ormulaed. The S&OP problem aim o maximize, over a planning horizon o one year, he oal ne proi o a muli-ie ompany produing variou produ erving a divere marke hrough dieren markeing hannel. We alo develop a e o non-oordinaed MIP model o repreen he radiional deoupled ale, produion, diribuion, and prouremen planning on a ingle ie bai. Boh planning proee are hen applied o an OSB manuauring ompany ha manuaure a broad range o produ aiying he demand in divere Norh Amerian marke uing dieren markeing hannel o onra, non-onra, and po marke. An evaluaion i given in eion 6.0 o ompare he wo planning approahe under deerminii demand and po marke prie. 4.0 Model ormulaion The S&OP problem onidered in hi paper oni o an enerprie in he proeing indury wih make-o-order operaion. I ha many mill (Figure 3) manuauring muliple produ and ell o i onra and non-onra uomer, inluding po marke, in dieren region whih are ubje o dieren regional marke prie. A onra demand i one reeived rom a long-erm uomer wih whom a onra i igned or an agreed prie and quaniy. Alhough he mill mu aiy he onra demand, hey reerve he righ o no aiying he par ha i beyond he agreed quaniy, upon apaiy horage. A non-onra demand, inluding po marke, i one reeived rom non-onra uomer. Thi demand may no be aiied, or no aiied ully, when apaiy i no available. The po marke, in he orm o non-onra uomer, erve a a buer o aborb remaining apaiie in a looely puh mode baed on lexible demand.
