1 Appendix A: Survey Questionnaires Post-Graduation Work Permit Pilot Project Survey of Case Processing Centre- Vegreville and CIC Regional Office British Columbia and Yukon Region On January 31, 2010, CIC and BC launched a Pilot that expanded the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP) to graduates of select private career colleges in BC that had obtained BC s Educational Quality Assurance (EQA) designation. The Pilot ended on January, 31, At this time, international students accepted into programs of study at participating Pilot institutions after August 31, 2012, became ineligible to participate in the Pilot. For more information, please refer to OB262-B and OB262-C. According to Pilot guidelines, CIC and BC agreed to conduct two assessments of the Pilot, one at the tenmonth mark, which was concluded in May 2012, and one following the completion of the Pilot. Results of these assessments will be used in determining the success of the Pilot and will be considered in the context of a wider review of the PGWPP. As part of the final assessment, NHQ is once again conducting a survey of CIC staff to gather quantitative and qualitative feedback to determine whether the Pilot met its objectives. Your participation is required in order to allow a comprehensive final assessment of this Pilot. Responses will be anonymous and reported in aggregate only. 6 Post-Graduation Work Permit Program Pilot Project Survey of Participating Institutions April 2013 Introduction As part of the International Student Annex of the Canada-British Columbia Immigration Agreement, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Government of British Columbia (BC) committed to the development of a pilot project to expand eligibility for the Post- Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP) to international students in programs of eight months or longer, graduating from select private post-secondary institutions in BC. The PGWPP Pilot began on January 31, 2011 and ended on January 31, Objectives of the Pilot This Pilot was designed to (a) increase the attractiveness and improve the experience of BC post-secondary education for international students, (b) increase temporary labour supply for key industries and occupations in the province, and (c) provide further opportunities and avenues for transitions from temporary to permanent status for international students who require work experience in BC/Canada in order to qualify for permanent residence. Survey The following is a short survey of all participating institutions to gather qualitative feedback to determine whether the PGWPP Pilot has met its objectives. Your participation is required per the guidelines of the Pilot. We appreciate your commitment to this process. We recommend that a senior official from your institution complete the survey. At the end of the survey, we ask that you identify both that person, and the contact for the PGWPP Pilot (if different from person completing the survey - see page 4). Please the completed survey to laurie.brucker@gov.bc.ca by April 22, Unless otherwise specified, please refer to the entire two-year span of the Pilot when answering the following questions. The first question is about the overall objectives of the Pilot. 1.
