1 SCHOOL OF TRADITIONAL MEDICAL THAI MASSAGE 3176 E. Blithedale Avenue, Mill Valley, CA Phone: (415) School of Traditional Thai Massage Catalog for Calendar Years (Updated Annually) Certified Training in Ancient Thai Healing Arts Instruction by Supron Mukomla, Master of Healing Arts 500 Hours of Beginning and Advanced Classes Healing Techniques Dating Back 2,400 Years Proven Results for both Mild and Serious Ailments Holistic Rejuvenation of Body, Mind and Spirit 1
2 Our Mission by Supron Mukomla Master Healer and School Founder When I was a small girl growing up in Thailand, I discovered that I had a wonderful gift. I could wade into the river, put my hand in the water, and then, if I watched and listened intently, I found that my hand would be guided to a fish. This gift made my family very happy. We were the poorest family in our village. My parents had eight children to feed and we had no land on which to plant rice. So, when I came home from the river with a fish, everyone was very exited because we could have a big dinner. From this experience I knew that a powerful spirit was working through me. Some years later I discovered I had another gift. After my two children were born, I had terrible pain in my back, and a strange ringing in my ears. On top of that, I had no feeling in three of my fingers. Then, I found a wonderful book describing the Ancient Techniques of Thai Medical Massage. These techniques were thousands of years old, but to me they were a new and exciting venture. I studied those techniques, and then I tried them on myself. Right away I found that I could put my hands on the area of discomfort, pinpoint the problem, and almost magically massage the pain away. Since then, I have devoted myself to learning and teaching the ancient wisdom as well as studying the original masters in Thailand. I studied the carvings describing medical massage that are found on the walls of the temple of Wat Pho. Over the past several years I have adapted those ancient techniques to the needs of western massage practitioners and their clients. This school has a simple mission: to share with other massage practitioners the ancient wisdom of Thai Medical Massage, and show them how to heal their clients with safe, natural, holistic methods. I want to show my students the power they hold in their hands, and how to turn that power into a gift of the Divine. 2
3 Guiding You To A Successful Career When I began teaching in California, Thai Medical Massage was not well known. In fact, the few people who knew about it viewed it as an exotic practice and one that was not taken very seriously. Now all that has changed. Today, Thai Medical Massage is one of the fastest growing disciplines in the field of alternative healing. In fact, thousands of people are eagerly searching for a qualified Thai Medical Massage therapist, but there are not enough qualified therapists to meet the demand. Now Thai Medical Massage has become an excellent career opportunity. The School of Traditional Thai Medical Massage will guide you to a successful career in this rapidly growing medical massage field: Study with a recognized master in Thai healing arts. Become immersed in an ancient philosophy of healing focusing on the body, mind and spirit in a modern, integrative, and practical way. Learn hands-on techniques of massage, stress and pain reduction, energy balancing, and disease detection and treatment. Learn how to develop your own inner resources as a healer and use them to care for and aid your clients. Once the basics are mastered, the school offers you a wide range of specialized training to take you deeper into the healing potential of Medical Thai Massage. The school keeps a library of ancient and modern texts on Medical Thai Massage, including its own definitive English language manual written by our founder Supron Mukomla. Because of Supron's unique standing in the Thai community the school is at the forefront of the Medical Thai Massage movement across the United States. A degree from the school is an invaluable asset to students launching their career in massage. The school works to get its graduates into positions at Medical Thai Massage clinics across the United States and provides guidance and teachings to those who want to open their own Thai Massage clinic. 3
