As a result, refugee clients were generally referred directly to me, within the limits of my availability. I provided both short-term counseling and long-term therapy (working from an object-relations perspective) based on the challenges and needs of the clients, and I collaborated with psychiatrists for treatment planning. 4 RESEARCH EXPERIENCE RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR SPRING 2011 SPRING 2012 Dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Counselor Education Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) Romania: Training Evaluation and Job Analysis This quantitative study had two purposes: to evaluate the GCDF Romania training program and, concurrently, to conduct a job analysis of the Romanian GCDF career consultants. GCDF is a paraprofessional certification program in the field of career counseling and development that was created in the US by the Center for Credentialing of Education (CCE), and was adapted to Romanian needs with the intention of preparing career specialists and of developing a national certification system. Duties included: literature review, research design, meetings with dissertation committee chair, Dr. Dennis Gilbride, and the committee members, Dr. Melissa Luke and Dr. Andreea Szilagyi, application for Institutional Review Board, instrument development, collaboration with a group of Romanian GCDF experts, translation and cross translation, data collection, data analysis. RESEARCH ASSISTANT SPRING, 2011 College Access Challenge Grant (Principal Investigators: Dr. Melissa Luke and Robert Wilson; grant value: $49,990) Duties include: implementing and evaluating college access programming for 9th -11th grade students in Syracuse City School District and 5 rural school districts in northern NY who are first in their families to attend college. RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR SPRING FALL, 2010 Research Apprenticeship Project (RAP): Trait Emotional Intelligence and Clinical Competence among Counseling Master s Students The study explores the relationship between self-reported trait EI of mental health counseling students and their clinical competency perceived by their professors. Duties included: literature review, research design, meetings with RAP advisor, Dr. Dennis Gilbride, application for Institutional Review Board, data collection (from professors and students), data analysis. 5 PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING EXPERIENCE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER European Board for Certified Counselors September 2011 present Lisbon, Portugal Duties include: developing training and certification programs in the counseling field, supervising national offices and partners on the implementation of projects, creating and maintaining connections with partners interested in promoting the counseling profession in Europe, collaborating with these partners in applying for and working on EU grants in the domain of career development. I co-authored the training program Basics of Supervision in Helping Professions and delivered it as of July 24, 2013 in Portugal, Cyprus, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany and Hungary. I participated in the development of the certification program founded on this program. I held trainings in the countries in which the program was implemented for career specialists, school counselors, counseling psychologists, and psychologists.
