4 In Memoriam John J. Kim (July April 2015) In April 2015, ASBBS lost John L. Kim, one of its dedicated members. John served ASBBS as a Track Chair in the Accounting area for many years and was admired by all who came in contact with him. The following brief sketch of John was contributed by his two young children. John J. Kim, the mildest, justest, funniest, and most loving husband of Sabina and the best father and friend of his two sons, Daniel and Andrew left us in the morning of April 4, John earned his Ph. D. in Accounting from the University of Memphis in Since then, he had worked at Hunter College (part of City University of New York). During his tenure at Hunter College, he had served in many different capacities including Director of the Accounting Program, Assessment Committee, Accounting Curriculum & Policy, Grade Appeals, Faculty Senate and Computer Facilities, to name a few.. He also served as a visiting professor at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in His scholarly activities had never paused since he earned his Ph.D. He had published many quality research papers in various peer-reviewed refereed journals until the last moment of his life. Soon after his death, he was posthumously honored as a full professor in Accounting at Hunter College. John was home in the morning of April 4, 2015 when he tragically left us. ASBBS dedicates this program of the 23 rd Annual Conference to the memory of John J. Kim. 4
