4 Access Networks, An Overview LZU R2A Description When you complete this course you will be able to describe the basic concepts and technologies in both fixed and mobile access networks. These concepts are all presented in such a way to give you a solid foundation to build upon. 8 EDA Installation and Configuration Description LZU R1A This course provides the participants with the knowledge and skills needed to install, test and configure EDA 1200 access nodes comprising controllers, switches, IP DSLAMs and IP POTS. Parameters like traffic types, VLANs, access methods, IGMP, MAC translations, QoS and PSD profiles will be configured for ADSL and VDSL services. SIP and RTP related profiles and templates will be configured for POTS. Furthermore, the course enables the participants to perform node maintenance tasks. The ECN212, ECN330 and ECN430 built-in local craft tools, CLI and web interface, are used throughout the course for installation, test, configuration and maintenance. 10 EDA Overview Description LZU R1A This course provides the participants with an overview of the EDA 1200 ADSL, VDSL, POTS and fiber/cat5 solution and its components. The course also describes ATM and PTM line bonding, line testing, INM, PhyR, DOM, PSD shaping, VDSL profiling, quality of service, security measures, and service provisioning including the New Service Model. Furthermore, the course gives an introduction to the built-in local craft tools in the ECN212, ECN330 and ECN430 controller nodes; the local craft tools make it possible to install, test and configure nodes without contact to a management system. An introduction to ServiceOn EM and local craft tools is also given. 12 ServiceOn EM for EDA Description LZU R1A This course provides the participants with the skills and knowledge needed to create EDA 1200 DSL and POTS networks and to configure network element properties. The course also enables the participants to perform security management, fault management, performance management and system administration maintenance tasks. Furthermore, the course enables the participants to create line configurations, alarm configurations, PSD profiles, ADSL and VDSL service configurations, end-user profiles, telephony profiles and templates and POTS lines. Throughout the course, ServiceOn EM is used for element management, network management and service configuration. The New Service Model is used for configuring the EDN624 IP DSLAM and the EFN432 fiber/cat5 node. 15 EFN324 Installation and Configuration LZU R1A Description This course describes the main system characteristics of an EFN324 fiber/cat5 access node, gives a detailed description of QoS handling including traffic classification, scheduling, and policing mechanism. This also course provides the participants with the knowledge and skills required to install and configure an EFN324 access node using CLI and PEM. Service provisioning will be done using CLI and PEM. Furthermore, the course enables the participants to read and interpret log files, read statistical parameters, use debugging and diagnostic functions. Approximately 50% of the course is allocated to hands-on exercises.
