5 Assigned Date A. FACILITIES PLAN ADMINISTRATOR Assigned Date To Completed Reference Personnel safety is the primary concern in the event the company's facilities are struck with disaster: 1. A building plan should be developed which includes: - a site plan - a floor plan - utility layouts - locations of boiler, fuel and hazardous waste storage - evacuation routes, inside and out shelter areas 2. Review building warning systems and procedures to be followed when a warning is sounded. Make sure all personnel are informed of the warning signal and related procedures for: evacuation (fire, flood, etc.) proceeding to shelter areas (tornado, etc.) 3. The overall building plan, when completed, should be reviewed, discussed and approved by local fire officials who should also be provided a copy of the plan. In the event the facility becomes inoperable as a result of the disaster, alternative sites must be evaluated and arranged for in advance: 4. Physical requirements for communications, management and operations are to be developed by the disaster coordinators for those functions. These plans should be reviewed and their minimum requirements incorporated into the alternative site search. 5. Alternate sites possibilities could be satellite warehouse or operational facilities, community buildings, warehouse storage facilities and the like. Arrangements for sites with independent parties should be in writing. Keep in mind utility (heat, water, electricity, telephone) requirement when selecting an alternative site.
