Opens communication between service areas. Technology is a pro-active way to monitor your client when not there. Baby boomers are accustomed to technology and will not hesitate using for themselves or loved ones. AiP 2.0 partners should prepare to work in coordination with multiple partners with intersecting market sectors rather than narrow niches. Technology development and dissemination is critical to efficient resources in AiP 2.0 and AiPT (Aging in Place Technology). Example of Activity Monitoring Monitor activity outside the bedroom between 6:00 am and 8:00 am. If no activity, then trigger an alarm call. At same time, monitor activity in the living area of the home between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm, and if there is a period of more than 2 hours of inactivity, then trigger an alarm. 6

Telehealth / Telemedicine Live-interactive videoconferencing (meets face to face encounter.) *Remote monitoring of clinical data such as blood pressure, weight, heart rate, blood glucose, and oxygen levels. Store and forward imaging allows x-rays, CTR scans, MRI images and digital images be transmitted. *The Veterans Administration (VA) has one of the most recognized and documented success rates of managing long-term care clients in the home.
